Ok, this happend with our first, and we double diapered him and it kept the pee in. But this is not helping with the twins. They recently started waking up 2x a night instead of just one (which is just awesome, let me say), meaning that they are peeing out their bed time bottle plus two more in the middle of the night. Hopefully they will go back to just waking up once (or not at all -dare to dream), but in the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions. Short of changing them in the middle of the night, I mean :FIFblush:

I would try going up a size in the diapers for overnight. Pampers and Huggies also make overnight diapers that you might want to try (I forget what the smallest size is) but those with a maxi pad inside, always helped keep my DS dry through the night. Good luck!

Huggies Overnights start in a size 4. That's what we use.

I just recently started using Huggies overnight in Size 4 (although they are wearing a size 3), and it's been great...no leaks!

I use Pampers Overnights - I'm using size 2 but I think they start in size 1. They work for my boys...

Ditto! They are superior to Pampers overnight diapers IMO. We didn't realize that when boys were smaller but definitely once they got bigger it was clear Pampers overnights weren't working anymore.

We started with regular diapers one size up for night time, now we use the Huggies Overnights and love them.

Ditto the Huggies Overnights. We were having them same problem (except my guys would sleep through and wake up soaking the next morning). We started putting them in the size 4 Overnights when they were in size 3 diapers, and we've almost never had a leak since. :good:

We went up a size and that has worked for us. We didn't want to spend the extra money on the overnight diapers.

Once we started going up a size problem solved and now we go up a size and use the overnights. We use Pampers though, Huggies have always leaked for us.

We cloth diaper with the boys, so I'm just assuming they still make these. With my oldest, we didn't want to spend extra on specific overnight diapers, but we found at BRU a pad to go in the diaper (looks like a big maxi pad) that is specifically for this. We never had a leak after that. We found them by the diapers.

I think they discontinued the diaper doublers but when I couldn't find them anymore I just used cheap maxi pads. Only my boys had heavy wetting issues. I'd take the strip off, fold it in half so it stuck together then put it in the front of the diaper but low enough that the waist would still close tightly. Worked like a charm!

Have you thought about trying a cloth diaper? My DS is a huge, heavy wetter and used to wake up nearly every night soaking wet from his bottom to his chin (he's a stomach sleeper). We tried Huggies and Pampers. Then, we switched to cloth and found some really good ones--Kawaii Baby Goodnight Heavy Wetter diapers. They are only $7.75 a piece and come with two great inserts. Now, we love cloth all the time--but, if you didn't want to make the full switch to cloth, I'd really recommend getting one of these and trying it.

I would also go up a size, I've never tried overnights before but everyone seems to love them! Going up a size always worked for us.

I have to say though, if mine were waking to eat at night, I always changed them, they were always soaking wet ;) I never could let them go all night until they started sleeping through, and even now with a diaper change immediately before bedtime, they are still very soaky in the mornings! :p

i cloth diaper my boys and have been looking for something for them to use for overnight because the cloth diapers get soaked after about 2-3 hours so now that they're able to sleep through an entire night for 8 hours i'm not able to reap the joys because i still have to get us several times a night to change them, lol....THANK YOU soooooo much for providing that link, i think this is EXACTLY what i have been dreaming of and i am going to have my hubby buy these for them ASAP. i'll let you know how this goes...wish me luck!! :0)

Yay!!! :woohoo: I hope you love the Kawaii diapers. We've had really good success with them. We have four of them total (2 for each baby) and just wash them every other day. They come with two inserts that are really thick and absorbent. However, you could also stuff a prefold inside or even a microfiber car cloth in there, too. Let me know how you like them. :drinks:

--Original poster, good luck with your heavy wetter!

I went up a size with my two, and didn't have to pay for overnight diapers. It worked great!

I also did the maxi pad trick. I had a ton I got for a quarter per package, so I slit the plastic so the pee could get through and stuck them in the diaper. Worked like a charm!
