Peeing out of his diaper?

Okay everyone---so the last 2 nights my DS has been flipping over and sleeping on his belly. And all of a sudden he wakes up in the morning soaking wet. His whole front and the bed where he is laying is wet. Now of course we assume it is pee. HOwever, it doesn't smell that bad (not like their diaper) and there isn't even a tinge of yellow on his outfit or the sheet. So it's kind of weird, but I'm sure it's pee, what else could it be? And why is it starting all of a sudden? Is it b/c he is lying on his stomach and therefore pushing against his diaper? Right now they go a full 12 hours w/o a change, but I guess I should change that? They are just sleeping so good so hate to wake them. Will moving him to the next level help? Right now he is on pampers level 2-3 and is around 18 lbs--they say they go to 22lbs. So guess cruisers level 3 is next?

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!!

There was a period of time with our kids when we were using disposables that we had to:
    1. go up in size
    2. use the Huggies OVERNIGHT diapers

we were having the same problems! You could try one of both of those things and see if it helps :)

yes OVERNIGHT diapers are WONDERFUL!! my DS peed out of his diapers too, he wears 4's daytime now and he wears 5's overnights now... he weighs 21 lbs. also, tuck his penis pointed down before you seal up the diaper.

Tummy sleeping is the WORST for peeing accidents! My kids always had trouble peeing out of their diapers when they started sleeping on their tummies. We just went up a diaper size & made sure they were on nice & snug.

I agree with pointing his penis down, snugging up the diaper a little, and possibly going up a size if those two things don't help.

never tried an overnight diaper and babies sleep on their backs/side here. we haven't had any problems with them peeing out of their diapers in the middle of the night unless they were sick, believe it or not. i think its because they went to bed earlier than usual and were changed earlier.

    definitely go up a size!

    Yep.

I've found you can never quite to up to the "recommended size" on most diapers, I have to switch to the next size up when my kids hit about the middle of the weight limit, otherwise they are leaking out of the diaper.

Going up a size always fixes the problem. I use Huggies sz 4 for my twins and they are roughly 21 lbs and 18/19 lbs.

I agree with going up a size, but in addition to this a bought diaper booster pads at babies r us. They look like maxi pads.

Anyway it keeps my boys from soaking thru.

Making sure his penis is down is a must. It sounds like he is ready to go up a size too. The overnight diapers start at size 3. You could also buy a disposable diaper cover (the plastic ones).

Currently my boys are 23 pounds. During the day they wear Pampers Baby Dry size 3 and at night size 4. Works like a charm. We did have the same problem, but going up a size fixed the issue!

    Good luck,

Our boys are almost 15 lbs and the Pampers Swaddlers size 2 were starting to get a little bit snug on them, and since we were all out of diapers I needed to buy a really large box. Well come to find out they don't make Swaddlers size 3 (and Target didn't carry the Swaddlers size 2-3), so I got a box of Pampers Cruisers size 3 a couple of days ago which were on sale. Well this morning the entire front of Brandon's belly was completely SOAKED, and Colin had a decent sized wet spot on his belly too (our boys sleep on their tummies). Now I'm trying to decide whether to get Pampers Baby Dry or Huggies Overnight diapers for nighttime. Oy! We never had this problem with Pampers Swaddlers. And I might add that the Pampers Cruisers are a lot rougher and not near as soft as the swaddlers! That is the only reason I paid .25 cent per swaddler instead of buying .15 cent Target brand diapers which were a little rougher. I'm gonna have to rethink this Pampers brand thing!
