Well, as I start to feel more and more run down.
I keep thinking about a pedicure.
I have heard that there are pressure points that will start contractions.

I am only 14 weeks, but my doctor told me today that it is ok to have your nails done or get a massage. The only thing she did say is to make sure it is a well ventilated place.

I think they're safe- I was told so by my doc. I just got a pedicure last week and just had her not really massage my feet.

Hope that helps - but I really wouldn't worry about it.

I just had one done a week ago and i have felt so pampered and relaxed that I have booked another one for next month. It is perfectly safe to have a pedicure done.

There are pressure points around your ankles that can cause ptl, but usually are affected by deep pressure which they don't usually do anyway during pedicures. If you are worried just skip that part.
I would however worry more about the cleanliness of the tubs you soak your feet in, there was some report on tv awhile back about improper cleaning and people getting staph infections from the tubs.
    Sorry to be a downer![IMG]

Make sure where you go is very clean since we are all immuno-compromised as pregnant people.
