we bought the plain one and the grape one. i opened the plain one and the girls gagged on it and gave me back their sippies. i don't want to waste it, so can i mix a little juice in it? (it's really gross! )

If you're using it to rehydrate them, then no - you can't add juice (if you want the pedialyte to do what it's supposed to). Pedialyte is designed to be easily absorbed and juice isn't. It is gross tasting, but remember that your girls taste buds aren't as developed as yours so they might have been gagging just on the new taste, not on the gross taste.

Mine didn't like pedialyte the first time they tried it either, but within a few minutes they were fine.

I thought it tasted salty! The grape is a little better.
Also walmart has a generic brand that was half the cost and tasted a little better (grape anyway).

    Is she feeling better?

it tasted like *** to me! i didn't open the grape yet, cuz i want to use this one up. we got the generic grape and the pedialyte brand plain. what a difference in price! geez. can i mix the two flavors? maybe that would work...

she's actually sicker than yesterday. hopefully this is the worst of it. she's VERy runny and coughing and sort of run-down, but she's still in good spirits and eating and drinking and happy! she's such a little toughy! marina, on the other hand... omg. what a drama queen. and she's not nearly as sick!

I gave up buying that stuff because they wouldn't drink it. Now I get the pops and they like those. Can you freeze into popsicles the stuff you have?? Maybe that would fool them into liking it!

Gatorade works just as well, and tastes much better! Try that...

I've read the same thing. I don't buy pedialyte anymore just gatorade. There's also a recipe for homemade pedialyte someplace on the web. I think the plain pedialyte tastes like slimy salty water. It's horrific.

    I hope the feel better.

maybe you could mix the grape and the clear one together to hide the taste. It's worth a shot and if they don't take it then i would just do the grape by itself.

Do they have a stomach virus? That's the only time I was told to do the pedialyte or even worry about dehydration. If they had "just" a cough or cold, as long as they were eating and drinking something, we should be okay.

I do hope they feel better soon.
