We took them to pedi dentist today. The denstist said Michelle's teeth are at high risk to get cavities. He recommended:
have them on strict schedules: we do i cant live with their so flex schedules
offer them food/milk in 30 mins: we offer them solid then milk in 1 hour/feeding
nothing is between feedings but water, NO juice, no snack: we do this
bursh teeth after meal: we brush their teeth before nap and bed time. the right way to bursh their teeth, there is no way 1 peorson can do it. we need 2 people to brush their teeth.
hes totally against DREAM FEED: which we stopped...this month lol!

Here is importance: he stated that he has seen many kids with 20 teeth and 20 or more cavities came in. He had to put them asleep to work on their teeth!!!!

We paid NOTHING for the appts. We have dental insurance. So if you have dental insurance. I highly suggest you find closed by pedi dentist and take your twins in for a quick checkup. Iam so glad I did take them in!!!

I'm just curious what led him to believe that your DD is at high risk for cavities? I'm glad you got a good checkup!

I know when we took the kids in for their first appts, they told us that my husband was not to share anything with them food/drink wise. My husband has bad teeth/cavities. I have none. They said I was ok for me to share my stuff since I have "good bacteria" or something that would help them fight off cavities. They discourage a lot of the same things yours do along with any sticky foods for older kids (fruit snacks, gummies, skittles, etc.) and encourage water mostly to drink. They have this cool chart up in the waiting room with the amount of sugar in milk, chocolate milk, pop, juice, etc.

i think he was talking about tooth surface... he said normal tooth surface is very smooth and shining. But her tooth surface is rough and food easily sticks on her teeth. He brushed her teeth and showed us how. they are mad and scream everytime we brush their teeth :(. He also put a light coat of fluoride (??i guess) on her teeth. He said itd protect her teeth for 2-3 months. Hope it helps!
