We had a play tent that we got rid of, the kids played with the zipper all the time and pushed it over....
I am worried, will they do the same with the pea pod travel bed?
Will they unzip it and get out and into trouble?
Will they roll over in their sleep in it and had it roll and suffocate them?
We do not sleep in the same room as them when we travel so I'm worried...
any advice or experience is welcome!

They can unzip it- there are zipper pulls on the outside and inside. Although we often tie them together so they CAN'T unzip it! And yes, they can roll it over too, but only on purpose. Our boys were being particularly bad about that the last time we used them, so I just had to sit in there until they calmed down. They can't roll it over from just sleeping in it. There's a blowup air mattress in the bottom that's sturdy enough that you have to TRY to roll it. It works for us right now- sleeping in "real" beds just isn't something I'm tackling right now, and we travel to grandma's and the such regularly.

Our boys constantly unzipped their Peapods and caused mayhem, so we just removed the inside zipper and the problem was solved. They can now only get out when we unzip them. The boys also tend to play and push their tents around on the first night of use, so I usually stay in the room with them until they calm down and are ready to sleep. The subsequent nights are usually much better since the novelty has worn off, so I just tuck them in like I do at home and leave them alone. I don't sleep in the room with them and haven't had any problems with the tents flipping over. I still use their monitor when sleeping, which gives me peace of mind.

good idea, how do you remove the inside zipper? and do you think you could hear them tip it with the monitor? We use a lot of white noise so I worry we wouldn't....:(

It took some elbow grease, but my husband got the zippers off with needlenose pliers. We all also sleep with a lot of white noise. The boys have theirs and we have ours (which is why we have to use a monitor). We joke that if a bomb went off outside we would sleep right through it. :) We've always gone to bed after the boys are asleep, which is key, so there hasn't been any concern for them tipping their tents over. It takes a lot of effort to flip the tent, so I don't see how it would be possible for your kids to tip them over in their sleep. Mine have been awake when they've done it, and believe me, you can definitely hear it when it happens - lots of laughing and then frustrated cries when they can't turn it back over.
