Payton & Brody are here!

I was suppose to be induced Tuesday, April 1st at 8am since I was already 37w 5d and they were measuring a pretty good size. We got to the hospital, checked in and was put on monitors, IV started and blood drawn. My doctor came in to check me and found out I was already dilated to 5cm and was already have very large contractions on the monitors (I could hardly feel them-just a little tightening) so she went ahead and broke Payton's water. So needless to say no induction necessary they were coming regardless. She came back in 30 mins. and I was at a 7cm. I had my epidural at that time. The contractions started to slow down so they started a pitocin drip on me and when she rechecked me in an hour I was a 9cm. 1/2 hour after that I was fully dilated and being wheeled into the OR. It only took 2 pushes to get Payton out. She was born at 11:52am and weighed 7lbs. 2oz. and 19 inches long. Brody took a little more pushing (6 times) and he was born 13 mins. later at 12:05pm and weighed 7lbs. and was also 19 inches long and both had 8/9 ap scores. Both are doing great, are healthy and absolutely beautiful. No NICU time and they will be coming home with us on Thursday. All in all the labor and delivery was no problem - 4 hours total (my quickest yet--yea vaginal birth!!) :Clap: Come to find out they had a set of twins born the day before us, and we were 1 of 3 sets born that day!! No April Foolin'.

Congratulations!!! great birth story and I'm so happy for you that it just happened, didn't need extra help. I can't get over how they hardly fit in the hospital crib together-- that just shows how big they are!
