We took the boys to a Super Bowl party yesterday and they ended up going to bed at 10PM  (their normal bedtime is 7-7:30) As I predicted, they were up at 6:30 as usual and they're oh-so-cranky today. So, I'm letting them play naked with Tinkertoys because those are two of their favorite things and I don't even care that I'll spend most of their nap time picking up tiny pieces... at least they aren't screaming.

Mine were the only twin toddlers there but they weren't the only twins or the only toddlers. Yet, they were the only ones rifling through the kitchen cabinets, climbing on the fireplace surrounds, and unlocking the windows and trying to figure out the cranks (different style than the ones at home). Sigh. It was either police them around the adults or go upstairs to the game room and become the babysitter because I went up and saw the decorative railing and 20-foot drop and decided they couldn't be up there without an adult. There was another mommy there doing the same thing with her daughter who is the same age and shares their adventuresome spirit. T&T were also the only kids there who ate more than two or three bites of dinner... and whoa, Nelly did they eat! I kept telling people that I seriously do feed them at home.

It sounds like they had a good time. I also find that it doesn't matter what time I put them down, they will be up at the same time as usual.

Your boys always seem to be a source of entertainment. Makes me realize what would happen if I had two Whit's (my son) instead of just one. Hope they take a good nap!

We're early birds too. 6:30 is considered a bit of a lay-in 'round here. So did YOU have a good time? Sounds like the boys had a ball.

We had the superbowl party here yesterday and my kids didn't get into bed until 10:30pm and normal bedtime is 7:30ish. THey each woke up 3x last night for no reason and were up by 7:30am. What a day! Thankfully they napped and were in bed @ regular time...hopefully things will be back to "normal" tomrrow (whatever normal is ;) )

Well, they took a regular length nap an hour earlier than normal and went to bed at 7 although I don't think they were asleep until 7:30 because DH got home late and wound them up right before bed <_<

Yes, I did have fun in spite of having to chase them down repeatedly. At one point, they were running laps in the shower (it's a circular, doorless shower -- way too fun for little people) and I might have let them run until they got tired except that each had a jumbo bottle of shampoo or conditioner and I was fearful of the mess they would make if they decided to unscrew the caps. The homeowners just laughed saying that every kid who has visited has run that circle.

I was cracking up because people kept saying how GOOD they were being. Were they blind?! Did they somehow miss me sticking the bumpers back on the fireplace surround a dozen times? Convincing them that the basket they'd pulled down from the counter was NOT a stage for dancing like the Wiggles? (thank goodness it didn't say Longaberger on the bottom!) I didn't say it because I didn't think it was necessary but just so you get the full scope of my pain, this is a 1.5 million $ mansion, brand spanking new, and all professionally decorated. 6 months ago, there is no way I would have taken them there. Seeing the other little monkey girl bounding on the couch like it's a trampoline and nobody batting an eye shocked the heck out of me.
