The girls birthday party is on Saturday & I need some ideas as to what kind of games or activities to do. I plan on giving each some paper & offering paint, crayons & markers to draw(washable of course) But what other kind of games could we do? Simple things for 2 or 3 year olds, I thought of a pinata, but could hear the heads getting banged! thanks in advance!

I have no suggestions. We are just planning on having as many toys available as we can. Our party is Saturday too. We only have 3 other kids coming so I'm not going to stress about it too much. I hope the girls have a great B-day!!

We just had our boys' third birthday party, and we had a pinata. There were 7 kids around the age of three, and everyone (adults included) had a great time with the pinata.

We also had a buncy house set-up and just let the kids play.

We just had our first b-day party and I had the cousins (aged 2-5) play pin the tail on the donkey. You know I'm not sure if they got it, but it sure was a hit. Everyone got a prize and they seemed into it.

we're having the party at the children's museum where there are lots of stations with different toys to play with. Maybe you could set something up like that, only on a smaller scale. The children's museum doesn't recommend trying to do party games with that age child because they don't have the attention span for it, usually.

maybe try "pin the tail on the donkey"?

They probably won't have the attention span but if you are feeling up to it you might want to try a beanbag toss or bowling using empty pop bottles (plastic of course) and a light weight ball. I went to a 2 yr olds b'day party with a piniata, and none of the kids were strong enough to open it. I'd wait on that one till the kiddos are a bit older.

We had an Elmo/Sesame Street 'theme' so we played "Pin the Nose on the Elmo". The older kids were blindfolded and the younger ones really didn't have any idea what was going on but enjoyed it.

We also had one of those pull-the-string pinatas and it was kind of stupid, kind of fun, and nondangerous.

I just thought of some fishing game we used to play at parties ...

We played one where there was a "prize" wrapped up in several layers of wrapping paper. The prize was passed around to music. When the music stopped, the child holding it would take off one layer of wrapping paper. This continued layer by layer. The one who was holding the prize when the last layer of wrap came off, won the prize. The host then gave "smaller" prizes to all the children so nobody would feel bad. The kids loved it. Have a great party!

I'm guessing you need indoor games?
What about Find the stars... put a bunch of those glow-in-the-dark stars around a room that you can dim, give them flashlights, and let them go hunting. You can give them each a bag to keep what they find.

Kids that age also like to dance. Maybe put on a childen's concert video and blast away!
