We are gearing up for their third birthday. This will be our first official party for the kids, and I will be doing party favors this year for their little friends.

Just curious if you have been to any parties and received some unique, fun, different favors. Our favorite favor by far was a CD full of the birthday girl's favorite songs (anything from Laurie Berkner, to Disney, to 50s music). So we may do that this year. But just curious what else you have seen or done. We do not have a theme, and probably will not, so that doesn't have to be a factor.

    Hi Kate,

For K&M's 3rd Birthday, I had a bunch of rubber duckies with birthday hats in a big bowl and people could take them as they left. I made lollipops with "I'm 3" and "Happy Birthday" molds which I think were a big hit.

Another cool favor that I have seen was a cupcake person. The cupcake tin had legs and the Mom made cupcakes for all the kids.

We have seen the CD as a party favor before and I love that idea... For our party bags this year, I bought small play dough tubs, crayons and stickers as those are the things my 3 year olds love..

I also have done a craft as a part of the party and that was the favor to take home. When the girls were 2, we painted small pumpkins (October birthday) and the kids got to take them home.

My friend always gives a favor depending on whether they are a boy or a girl. This year she gave the boys a Spiderman coloring kit and the girls got a Princess one.

Last year it was a Princess favor and a monster truck for each boy! My son was thrilled.

I'm glad to see this thread because the boys 4th birthday is around the corner and I'm not sure what we will do for favors. I LOVE the mix CD though! I may steal that idea! :)

Love the cd idea. We have done bubbles and I took the label off and created my own with the computer. I've also done bean bags that were a huge hit. Aside from what has already been listed that is all I can think of for now. I will post more if I think of them...

for my guys party I got cheap (but good quality t-shirts off the internet for about $3 each (cheaptees I think) and decorated them with the words 'rock on' for their rock n roll party. i did it with those cardboard cutouts that you just paint inside. I rolled them up and tied ribbon around them. My guys wore theirs to the party so the people had already commented. They were a hit.

I like the idea of the CD's or shirts. Those are much better than silly little dollar store toys you end up throwing away.

We did chocolate suckers with a "Happy 1st Birthday" mold for their first birthday and last year we did sugar cookies in a star shape with the number 2 on them for all guests. I am struggling this year... party is in 5 days. I want to do goodie bags, but I have 20 kids-- about 12 girls and 8 boys ranging in age from 2 to 11... and don't want to spend a lot of $$$! The age difference is making me think to much... so I may end up doing the bubbles, play doh, notepads, crayons and candy in bags and be done, but I wanted each to be age appropriate but I don't think thats going to happen!

I love a lot of the ideas on here!

I am just going the easy route...I bought some little toys at the dollar store (whistles, slinkys, etc.) and some candy and will just fill the bags. I didn't have time to get creative. Can someone send the link for that CD? I think that's a great idea.

ONe year we did a pokadot theme for my oldest DD and her party "favors" were those big 18 inch super balls from walmart. The kids loved playing with them during the party, and then each child took one home. That was a summer birthday (outside BBQ) so I am not sure that would help much. Just throwing it out there.
