I have decided that during the last 3 months of pregnancy, we should get a handicap parking pass or some type of expectant mother pass. Walking through a parking lot is gettting tiresome!! :(

So True. I remember one day going to my peri and the lot was full so I had to park super far. I was po'ed!! I couldn't believe they would actually expect me to walk that far.

I was just thinking this the other day.. I don't have the energy to make it both across the parking lot and THEN shopping!

Depending on how your pregnancy is going, with a multiple pregnancy, your dr can fill out a temporary permit form. When it was a debate as to whether or not i was going to continue working a lil while longer, she was going to give me the permit so i didn't have to do as much walking while working, but i didn't get one because we decided to just pull me outta work completely. Doesnt hurt to talk to your dr and get their thoughts.

This is one of my pet peeves with MFM and my weekly ultrasounds. MFM isn't in the hospital, it's in a totally different building in the next town over with a bunch of other outpatient stuff and all of the parking that is anywhere near the building is reserved for employees. If I am lucky, I can get a spot at the back of the lot, otherwise there is an overflow lot across the street. It seriously sucks to have to haul my ginomously pregnant self across that lot each week.

I totally agree. I just told DH a couple of days ago that women pregnant with twins should be issued a handicap pass at the end of the 1st trimester and that it should last a year. He agreed wholeheartedly.

I agree with the parking issus....its horrible, I can hardly walk from the handicap spots never mind the last row. I have been doing a no no lately and using my grandmothers parking sticker when there's alot of handicapp spots open and no close spots, her stickers always in my car, she would probly freak if she knew but I didn't realize getting my own was even an option and now I'm mostly on house arrest anyway so I can only use it at apt.'s and today for my son's b-day party at the mall

This pass is something I am gonna talk to my OB about ASAP.. The parking deck at work and the job is about a 10 min walk up a hill.. So soon that will not work in the coming months.. I just hope my request isnt met with resistance..

My mom suggested I get one months ago, I'm just too proud. I get a little miffed though when I go to a store and see 15 HC spaces and only 2 cars using them and I have to walk so far. UGGHHHH...

I'd say to new mommies expecting twins to just get one. Just do it! My mom just applied for one for herself and will be bringing it with when she comes to help with the babies. I CANT WAIT!!! :)

Oh man! I totally agree! I'm putting this topic on the list of things to talk to my doctor about at my next visit. Hopefully he won't laugh at me. Wal Mart kills me!! I still haven't been brave enough to use the motorized cart yet.

We have a grocery chain that has infant/small children parking. Oh, and our warehouse club store (BJs) has it too. They are special spots right next to the handicapped spots.

I'm supposed to be on modified bedrest so I have a wheelchair in the back of my car. My hubby pushes me around the store and stuff.... at first I felt really stupid, but now I'm kind of liking being carted around by the hubby...lol!! Atleast I can get out of the house this way.

There were a couple stores where I live that had "Expectant Mother" parking spots, but they have since gone our of business and no one else seems to be picking up the idea... but I think it would be fabulous.
