I have seen lots of raves for 123 Magic on the boards and plan to use it when we reach 2. Unfortunately, that is 7 L-O-N-G months away and I'd like somekind of roadmap to help me survive between now and then.

The boys aren't horrible, just terribly whiney and as a first-time parent I'm totally clueless on how to handle any behavior issues before the age of 5.

No suggestions here. We've been using 123 Magic for 6 months now, and I still have whiners.

I looked and looked and still have found nothing I like. Personally, I was not a fan of Jane Nelson's book, but that is just my opinion. I plan on trying 123 magic at 18 mo.... I asked some other TS moms and they said they used it starting at that age, and the guy who teaches it has said sometimes it can be useful at that age.

We have used the 123 book since they were 18 months. At first they would laugh and then they would count with me, but now they know what happens. I teach school so I had this in our library and all the parents seem to love it. I also have an orange floppy ruler that I use some time to pop their rear. I do not pop hard, but since it is on their diaper it seems to startle them and they stop. Our biggest problem now is how to get rid of the paci. If they do not have it they whine.

"Toddlerwise" by Ezzo and Buckman (sp?)

this is a great series, but it will only make sense if you are into/have read "Babywise"

I thought toddlerwise was for age 2-3? If not, I'll look at that one since I loved Babywise and Babywise II.
    THanks.
