My girls just turned 4 and I am having a hard time finding pants that fit in the waist, but that are not 3 miles long!! The target knit pants are so long in a 4t that I may just have to wash and hem??? Any other brands I should be looking at?

Sorry :( we have the opposite problem here. Lauren's pants are always too short. It seems that maybe Carter's runs a bit on the shorter side??

I had luck with The Children's Place and Kohl's Jumping Beans brand for the same issue.

My girls are almost 5 and just barely growing into 4T pants. However, they seem too big all around, not just in the length.

Sarah wears mostly leggings (she's especially partial to the Gymboree velour ones). Those are nice because the sizing is more flexible -- the 3T ones come just to her ankle and the 4T to the tops of her shoes, but you can sort of scrunch or roll them up.

I love the ones that have the adjustable waist. They are great. My kids are tall and skinny and the only way they can go without a belt is the adjustable waist ( They have elastic inside that you can pull tighter and button to the right size. We have lots of clothes given to us that aren't and we just wear belts most days.

I just bought two pairs of slim jeans at JCPenny last night and they fit the girls perfectly. First pair that I didn't have to pull the adjustable waist all the way to the end. I didn't even have to adjust the waist at all and the length fits great. They were on sale for 12.99 too, so I was thrilled. First pair of slim jeans I have bought and will keep on buying them now.
