Anyone using the new Dry Max Pampers and having issues with them like the news is talking about? I have some stocked up for the birth of my girls coming up soon in Newborn size and am wondering if I should get rid of them and get Huggies or something??? What do you think?

We registered for some and were given some but haven't gotten to them yet. I'm curious though, what has the news been saying about them? I've been so out of the loop on the "real world" since I had the babies that I don't know which way is up sometimes. :)

we've been using the dry max since they came out b/c that's the only option i've been seeing with the swaddlers. We've had no problems with rash or anything... so i would give it a try and not worry.

I just returned a package. I'm sure they are fine, but I can't risk it - I have too much on my plate to worry about rashes.

You have time, so I'd go ahead and return them for another brand. No way would I risk my newborn babies sweet little bottoms getting a chemical burn!

Is this just on the new ones with the dry max? We have several boxes, some of which are dry max and some of which aren't. Are the plain swaddlers okay to use?

I would go ahead and use them, you never know what your baby is going to react to. We used huggies with the twins for 10 months, and all of a sudden my dd had this horrible rash, which we thought was a yeast infection. Took her to the dr, got cream for it....it would not heal up! Finally switched to pampers diapers, within a couple of days the rash went away!

We've been using pampers ever since and haven't had any problems with them.

swaddlers are GREAT. Honestly, you just have to see what works for your babies. Some people swear by huggies and my kiddies leaked through them. My son got a bad diaper rash early on b/c we were using huggies wipes and when we switched to pampers sensitive it went away. GL

Never had an issue. Try a little of each kind people give you to figure out what you like best. We switch between Pampers and Huggies without any issue. I like Huggies at night because they fit my kids a little snugger and don't leak, but that's because my kids are long and lean. I know some people who swear by Luvs, and others who can use the generic brand from BRU. I'm a pediatrician and have yet to see a patient with a reaction to the Dry Max.

Thank you Ladies!! I just wanted to see what everyone else had experienced outside of "hearing" what people say on the news and stuff. Pampers is trying to say that other moms are "pushing" these others to say "chemical burn" instead of diaper rash, so I wanted to get the real experience from moms I sort of know!! Thanks again.

We have never had any problem with them and prefer them to Huggies. I believe it's a very small group of people who have reported a reaction.

I HATE dry max. I always used swaddlers and detested any other kind. Dry max instantly gave my babies rash. I'm taking about 2 diapers and a rash. I alternated them with huggies to use them up. I love huggies little movers now and have no issues with them. I got a free box of pampers so I will use those up but I still dislike them. And they make my babies smell like peepee all of the time.

Yup - they gave our kids rashes too. We had been using the old type of pampers that I had bought a while ago with no problem, but ran out of those and bought drymax and the boys got terrible rashes (kind of looked like tiny open sores). Then we switched to cloth during the day and I found a few of the old style to use at night and the rash is completely gone. We loved pampers swaddlers and cruisers with the girls so I'm very sad that they changed them so much. :( Oh - and I had no idea that any of this was widespread until after we already switched to cloth. I just figured our boys were more sensitive to the chemicals in sposies. But it looks like it was definitely the drymax.

We also had issues w/ the new dry max. We switched to cloth anyways, but this past weekend we went camping and decided to use disposables to make our life easier. Sure enough the boys had a HORRIBLE rash. Looks like little sores all over

I just checked our current bag of diapers and they are Pampers "Baby Dry" - it doesn't say "Dry Max" anywhere so I assume those aren't affected? At any rate, we haven't had any issues with those. And Emily, it's funny you found that Pampers led to your girls smelling like pee because I noticed that when my girls wear Huggies they smell more like pee than with the Pampers. The last pack of Huggies we bought also left small traces of clear gel-like bits on their bottoms which I did not like at all (although never noticed that before with Huggies so it could have just been that package). We tried cloth diapers for a few weeks when they were born and they both got diaper rash so go figure. I wasn't expecting that (and yes, we changed diapers OFTEN)!! I am wondering though if we should try them again because it's disgusting how many sposies we throw out a week and because all of the chemicals that go into creating them (heck, disposable diapers were created by a chemical engineer after all)!

I had a friend whose 23 mo got a rash after 1 diaper. We are using swaddlers and I am leary about the new dry max. All the swaddler and cruisers in my area are all with dry max but NOT the baby dry (which is what our toddler wears) so I have switched my ds to size 2 baby dry and my dd is in an older 2/3 package of swaddlers cuz she's a tad bigger. My plan is to either switch to baby dry or try the swaddlers and see what happens. Its too bad cuz I really do love the swaddlers but we'll have to see. Huggies left an eczema like dry spot from the band on the inside back of them on my toddler at 3 months (exactly the same as teh band down to the little indentations) so we have been a pampers family ever since. We also use the pampers sensitive wipes too as our toddler can't use any others. Good luck, I plan on just buying a smaller package if I do decide to try them.

  18. HATE DRYMAX/PAMPERS!!! Within 48 hours of switching to DryMax both babies had chemical burns...not rashes...burns! No I did not leave them in the diapers for any extended period of time. (Usually change them every hour to hour and a half...Picked up from NICU). Took them to pediatrician...ended up with MRSA, scars, and antibiotics 3x a day :grr: :grr: ! Once I switched off of DryMax to cloth...rash magically disappeared!Pampers had no comment. I didnt know it was drymax till I saw it on news....2 weeks later.... :woah: :woah:

We have been Pampers enthusiasts since the kids were born (they are 20 months now). That is all we have used - swaddlers, baby dry, overnights, etc. When dh was at Sam's he called me to ask me if I thought he should get the Dry Max that were on sale even with everything we heard in the news. I thought is was overblown and only applied to babies with sensitive skin so I told him to go ahead and get them. Well, after a couple of days of use both of my kids had the worst diaper rash that I have ever seen on them. Nothing else to explain it - nothing new in diet or laundry, no loose stooled diapers, etc. and it is only the back, waist and leg line so I definitely think it is the diapers. I still think Pampers are the best beause of our experience with their other diapers and the lack of leaking, but I am very upset at the reaction by the company and them saying the parents who complain are alarmist and fabricating the problems. I am not usually one to be overprotective or even particularly concerned about recalls, but this is one that I really think needs to happen - I think Dry Max should be recalled and people should have the option to return them if they are causing a reaction.
