A couple of days ago I have noticed slight pains around my lower abdomen that come & go..

Was wondering if it could be round ligament pains?

Those of you who have been there before, could this be a sign that my belly is about to expand again??

I guess with babies that have weights over 5lb each I can expect my belly to get much bigger in the coming weeks...

I am only 21 weeks right now, and have had a few of those pains. I believe that is what I had as well. Or where my uterus was stretching...

I seriously can't remember having any discomfort with the twins pregnancy.

WHAT!!?? I must have gotten all of your discomfort Jamie!

Denise, it could be round ligament pain. Your tummy doesn't tighten with the pain does it?

No, no tightening when I get those slight pains...

I agree, it could just be ligament pains & because I'm so close to delivery I'm 'freaking out' so to speak..

At most I can expect my belly to get bigger in the next couple of weeks :)

I get lower abdomen pains, too, but they're not "slight" -- they knock me over! They feel like a severe stitch or cramp, and I have to lean over and not move at all for a minute, until it goes away. Usually it happens if I'm stretching funny or trying to roll over in bed, or just rushing around too fast....

I thought these were round ligament pains, but I'm really not sure. (I don't think they're contractions -- at least, they don't feel like the contractions I felt from labor last time around!)

They happened more frequently in the second trimester, but now I get maybe one a week or so. Is this what yours feel like?

When I climbed into bed last night I felt the pains again, but this time the pain seemed to radiate into my legs??
These pains are not knock me over pains, but enough for me to feel quite uncomfortable.
Thankfully though they don't last, I just have to shift positions & it eases off. (For a few minutes) :)
I have also been having terrible hips pains for a couple of weeks now, mostly when I'm in bed at night. But lately when I'm sitting in the recliner my hips tend to get very sensitive & sore..

Could be all this heavy weight I'm carrying in my tummy..

Could it be my pelvis starting to seperate??

You know I really feel so at a loss, I've never been through this & don't know what to be concerned about or worried about or even what to look out for in this last trimester..
Yes, I've read a whole lot on preterm labor, but when you apply it to yourself it sort of doest apply. The reason being that I am going through so much aches & pains & weird body functions..that how would I know if something is seriously wrong???

    Lord help! :)

Have you got one of those maternity support belts that goes under your tummy and around your back? I can't be on my feet for more than 10 min. without that on or I can't walk. I'm amazed that such a small thing can help so much!

I get round ligament pains (and have for the last 10 or more weeks on and off) and they start below the uterus and often shoot down my legs and are most frequent after sitting for an extended period.
The other pain described by Becca and also find as mentioned by someone else that they come when I am backed up with gas or constipated :pardon: They hurt like h*** but are definitely not contractions (didn't show up on my NST today). If I move it feels better.

I guess getting bigger is inevitable!! hopefully you won't get too uncomfortable as a result.
