Ok, so I'm off my meds to stop PTL & am just 'waiting for God to pick the day when we get to meet the boys'. However, lately I've been getting REALLY strong & QUITE uncomfortable contractions...sometimes as close as 3-5 mins apart. They kept me up for 3 hrs last night because I couldn't sleep through them, yet EVERY time I got up...they'd lower in intensity & space out to like 30 mins apart. It's fine that the boys aren't ready to come yet & fine that my uterus needs it's practice contracting, but must they be so cruel as to make the BH contractions HURT & last so LONG? It's like I get to do little mini-labor sessions all the time, with nothing to show for it (yes, I know this can't be as painful as real labor, but it honestly isn't very comfortable either).

Just wondering if this happened to anyone else & if it maybe meant things were progressing. This is the 3rd episode of painful BHs I've had in the past week (so far, the prior 2 did not change my cervix), otherwise my other BHs are the typical 'annoying' ones that I sleep right through when need be. I'm just hoping I won't have to deal with painful ones for the next 2+ weeks til I get my scheduled csection!!!!

Sounds like your body is preparing for birth...although it can take awhile! I'm sorry you are so uncomfortable! :hug99:

Hi hun! I'm sorry you are having such a rough time with the contractions! It's sounds like your body is gearing up for labor so hopefully it will happen fairly soon for you. Try to stay cool in this yucky, muggy Wisconsin weather we've been having!!! And keep us updated. :hug99:

I have been experiencing this too over the past few days--I keep thinking I'm going to go into labor, but then the contractions ease up. It's no fun! But I think right about now is when they go through another growth spurt, so maybe that's contributing to this?

ugh... you are bringing back memories...my bh ctx in both my pgs started around 4 months and progressively got worse... I had a c/s with the twins so they never got to an extreme...although I did have one episode at 35 weeks where I had to go to L&D b/c of pretty strong ctx that wouldn't stop all night long... But with my older dd I had ctx for four entire days before my labor actually got started... And I mean AT LEAST 10 an hour... it was horrible. and it's exhausting...so I feel your pain.. just thinking about it makes me feel like I'm having bh ctxs!!!

It's nice to know I'm not alone, although I wouldn't wish the painful, 'not-true-labor' contractions on ANYONE! I haven't had many today (ironically, mine worsen when I lay down...explain that one!) so I'm hoping it'll be a quiet night.

As for a growth spurt, that'd be great! I'd love to pork up the boys a bit more before they come, which I'm hoping won't be TOO long!!!

Thanks for the input, ladies! I was hoping I'd hear "Oh they go away" or "Oh you'll be in labor within a day or 2, so hang in there", but that's ok :)! I lost my plug last week, so each time the contractions pick up, I think I'm going into labor! It's such a tease!!!
