I am 15wks along and this entire week has been the most painful. This is my second pregnancy but my 1st was 14 years ago. I am having the WORST pelvic pains when I stand up and lower back pains. The pain was so bad Tuesday my doctor sent me to the ER to have a urnie culture done. I knew for sure I had a UTI or kidney stone. After blood and urine test, they determined there is absolutely nothing wrong! I am relieved but even today, every time a stand up I'm in pain. The only relief is to lay down with the heating pad. Has anyone else had the "ligament pains" this bad and so early?? What in the world do you do in your 3rd trimester??

A tummy support thing has helped me tons. And nice relaxing baths.
I know I recomended to someone else this tip, take a tube sock, fill with rice, tie off the end. You can heat and reheat it over and over for your ligaments.

I have had a lot of pain also. Sometimes I stand up and have to sit back down for a minute just to recollect myself. It is awful. I have often thought about calling the Dr. but know that it is just ligament pain and there is nothing he can do about it. Hang in there. I have had mine since about 13 or 14 weeks at least. It is a total shock when it has been so long since you were pregnant last to feel this much pain. My oldest is 14 and my youngest is 12 so I really don't remember going through this before. I don't think I had pain like this with those two. I totally sympathize with you.

I am sorry to hear about your suffering. The same thing happened to me about the same time. All I can suggest is rest as much as possible, but I don't know how feasible that is for you. I was pretty much on the couch my entire pregnancy, there's still a dent in the cushion!

    Good luck!

I have had it for several weeks too--radiating up my belly and down my groin. Its the weight of these big bouncy boys I'm carrying around. :)

I wish I could tell you that it comes and goes and gets better from time to time, but it really doesn't for me. It is the worst standing from a sitting position or rolling over in bed. The prenatal cradle helped some, but my acupuncturist friend told me that nothing really helps but delivery.

    Hang in there!

I am sorry to hear how much pain you are in, but I think it is pretty normal. My pain is always there, bearable but always there. I bought a prenatal cradle and it helped some. I am in my third trimester and the ligament pain gets a little easier, the back pain stays the same.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Sorry you're in so much pain so early on in the pregnancy :hug99: My ligament pain hit later than yours did (probably at about 25 weeks), but MAN, does it hurt! I got a massage at about 30 weeks, and the massage therapist suggested a few things -- unfortunately it was too late for me to start doing this stuff but it may work for you: first, he suggested sitting on a blue exercise ball as much as you can to strengthen your core. And also, he recommended standing up with the ball between your back and a wall and then bending your knees slightly (the further apart your knees, the easier it will be for you). This also works the core. I don't think either of this will HEAL ligament pain, but I think the point is to strengthen what you can because a healthier body is healthier all around!

I tried a belly bra, but honestly I think it made me more uncomfortable! And yes, the pain is worse for me too rolling over in bed, getting in and out of the car, and standing up (esp. off the couch) -- YOUCH!!

Thanks everyone! Atleast I know I'm not the only one suffering. It's just strange, I don't think I'm that big, but I am showing. It does seem worse in the afternoons, specially after sitting at my desk all day. Oh yes, lots of lazy days for me. It's so hard to be stationary when there is so much stuff you need and want to do - guess that's why they tell you to listen to your body, huh!?

Yeah, inside, sharp, pulling, heavy pains, that's the only way I can describe it. Being lazy on the couch seems to be my only relief!!

for some reason I had a lot of round ligament pain early in the pregnancy and it eased up (or I just got used to it) mid-way into the 2nd trimester. Your uterus grows bigger early and going from nothing to 4-8 weeks ahead is a lot of work.

I also had/have a lot of pubic pain from SPD, it's worse when I go from laying down to sitting to standing. Or sitting to standing. If I sleep slightly reclined, it's not as bad. But it used to halt my walks. A pregnancy cradle (mine was a babyhugger) helped early in the pregnancy, but now that I'm as big as I am, it doesn't go 1" past my belly button and doesn't support me like it used to. For some reason, maybe it's because I'm keeping it easier a lot more often, I don't have as much SPD pain. It just occurs whenever it decides to. My hips are popping a lot more on their own and I think it's because of the babies spreading me out, but when the SPD started, I was sleeping on the couch and needed to turn over. I pushed my foot against the couch end and popped my pubic symphysis. it was the weirdest feeling and right as I got up - I could tell what happened. I was already having warning signs, like sciatic pain down both legs front and back... this all had to do with the same ligaments that connect your pubic bone in front of your hips, to your hips.

anyways, I'm rambling. I'm going back to bed.

I was in that paing by my second OB appt, around the same time as yours. It was awful, but worst at night.
