Pain when sneezing

My daughter is 13 weeks pregnant with twins and when she sneezes she has pain in her lower abdomen. Have any of you ladies experienced this?

 

Yes, early in the pregnancy (with all my pregnancies) when I would sneeze, cough hard, or move positions I would get a pulling feeling in my lower abdomen. I am figuring it is just round ligament pains. As long as she doesn't have any constant cramping or bleeding she is fine.

 

Yes, ligament stretching pains, it's when the ligaments that hold the uterus in place, stretch too quickly and ache.

 

Yep, tell her not to worry. Sneezing, laughing, coughing, moving too quickly - they all do it. But these pains will soon go away... and be replaced with some equally fun NEW ones.

Yep I had this bad. Cough, sneeze, yawn, and bend wrong. As long as she doesn't double over in pain or cry because it is so bad than it sounds normal to me. But should mention it to her doctor. I think it went away around 15 weeks for me. But I still get it sometimes.

 

OK, I am the exception to the rule on this one. I actually tore my abdominal muscles on the right side when I had the flu in January. I was sneezing and sneezing and coughing. Finally during one big sneeze it tore…and I screamed and fell to my knees. I was about 31 weeks at that point. But you know when it happens – it’s not like some stretching pain that flares up every now and then. It was constant stabbing pain and took a few weeks to heal but it’s all better now.

Anyhoo, just wanted her to know that it is possible – though again, you would DEFINITELY know the moment it happened.

 

I am 36.2 and I have termendous pain when I sneeze. Its killer but I know its from all the pressure.

 

I remember dreading the sneeze! Sounds like round ligament pain as PP have mentioned and it's nothing to worry about, totally normal!

 

i never did have pain when sneezing, i just had to be careful not to pee on myself. <_<
