I am not sure if I should be concerned or if this is just some ligament/growing pain. All day I've been having contractions if I am not laying down. SO I lay down - or even just lean to the left on the couch and they go away and I feel fine. The other problem is that when I'm up and moving I feel this sharp pain on my right upper side. Not high enough to be in my ribs but close. It feels like a muscle is pulled and when I lean to the right on the couch I can still feel it but it almost feels good (like a good stretch). I don't know what to think. I haven't had a lot of growing pains lately so wondering if I'm just forgetting what they're feeling like and it's about that time again. The pain goes away after a few minutes of standing and seems to be fine if I'm laying down so I don't know that I should be super concerned. I've already decided if the contractions are doing the same thing tomorrow I'll call during office hours and let them know about it although I don't know what they'll do since they go away when I lay down. I just want it in my records. Just wondering if I should be concerned about the pain. Hopefully this made sense. Sorry - it's been a long day.

    I feel your pain... literally!

I have the same thing, except mine is on the left side, feels like I pulled a muscle, but goes away once I get comfy on the couch. I feel pulling when I try to get up. These have been happening for the last few days. Mine arent contractions, I pretty sure its just strecthing to make room for the growing girls! I dont worry to much about it, since its relieved by changing position, but if you feel like there is something to be worried about I would CALL ASAP!!

Hope you feel better soon!!!

Thank you!!! I feel so much better honestly! At least it sounds normal since I'm not the only one having it. It must just be growing pains. The little girly on the right side has been more sleepy lately so maybe she's going through a growth spurt. My belly has stretch marks on the left side but not the right yet (I know - so weird!) so maybe that's all it is. Thanks again!! :)

NOT at all! Im starting to get them on my left because she is sideways... LOL... I noticed them last night! I ran into the living room yelling for hubby to come look! .... " How the HECK does this happen!!!!" and pointing at them. He just smiled and said they dont matter. Heck, they matter to me! I thought I had stretched enough with my son.... But NOPE baby B has other plans!

I don't want to be an alarmist, but I believe that pain in that area on the right side can be associated with pre-e. It's one of the things I was told to watch for when my blood pressure went up. I would give your doc a call just to check in.

I looked up Preeclampsia signs, you can read about the pain HERE. I dont remember being told about that with my Pre-e, with my first, but mine seemed to happen over night. My BP spiked along with massive weight gain...

GOOD LUCK! I agree with pp... might be best to call!

It seems to be better this morning. Do you think I should still call??

    hey Lisa!

I'm sorry your going through this. I can tell you I've had right sided pain for quite a few weeks now. I'm not sure I am having what your describing. Mine is from the muscle that is attatched to the uterus. Here's a pic of the lattimus dorsi that holds the other muscle (sorry can't remember the name).

    or..

(sorry not good about inserting links)

My chiro explained as my uterus stretches so does this muscle and it always feels like I have a 'kink' there. I can try to rub my upper right side and it feels better, but it's at a wierd angle to do it myself...

But if your concerned just double check with your dr.

    I hope you feel better!
email me and let me know what else is going on with you!!

I would. My OB always wants me to call and even if it's nothing to rush in about, then at least it's in my file and they make certain to ask me about it at my next appt.
