Last night and today my ribs just below my breasts have been really hurting. I know that they begin to spread at some point during the pregnancy, but when does this usually happen? I'm 9 weeks today is it too early for this to start? Thanks in advance.

I would also think that 9 weeks is too early -- at that stage, it's more likely to be gas or some kind of stomach issue. My ribs started hurting around 20 weeks, I think, though it was only sporadic at that point -- it didn't get really bad until about 26 weeks.

I agree 9wks is too early. I was very lucky and did not have bad rib pain until the end at 36wks. It really depends on the position of your babies.

Interesting you asked that because I feel the same pain, and I"m 13 weeks today and started feeling it around the same time as you. For me, it's the actual side of my bone on my right side...just in the middlle of my chest, not my ribs in general. I feel it more when I'm sleeping on my right side--not sure if weight has anythign to do with it--i've only gained a few pounds, but can't figure out what it is. It actually has gotten a bit better for me, so hopefully yours will too, but still wake up at night sometime.

I'm 35 weeks and my ribs never bothered me. I'm actually now having pain in the back of my rib cage when I lie back-he must be putting pressure on me in the back!

Mine started just past the half way mark. Then it burned until the end.

Than maybe it's my bed or the position that I lay in, I know though that my bras feel tighter around the rib cage area, and I already bought a bigger size. I don't know what is going on than.

I haven't had any rib problems yet and I'm 29 weeks. I hope whatever is causing you pain eases up.

I started getting a pressure type of pain in my ribs around 18 weeks. It's so hard to say what's normal, but you could always run it by your doctor.
