I had my tubes tied when I delivered my girls via c-section almost three months ago. The last few days I've had aching/cramping type pain right where I believe my ovaries/tubes would be. It's not the same as menstrual cramps because it's not in the middle, otherwise it feels pretty much like cramps. Maybe tmi, but I haven't had my period since the girls were born. I feel like I have to walk hunched over. I've taken tylenol or ibuprophen for it which helps-at first I thought I overdid an ab workout-but I'm afraid to just keep medicating this pain in case it's an infection or something else. I've heard ectopic pregs can happen after a tubal!

Has anyone else had this type of pain post tubal ligation?

I haven't had any pain like this but it is nice to know someone els hasn't started their period yet. I had a tubal also, but I guess there is always this doubt in the back of my mind that I could get pregnant again. I bottle feed my babies and have been wondering when I would start my period.
Hope you find out what is bothering you.

I HAVE FELT THE SAME PAIN. THEY SAY THAT YOUR TUBES WILL SPASM AFTER A TUBAL AND IT CAUSES PAIN. I HAVE HAD 2 PERIODS SO FAR. AND THEY ARE WORSE THAN EVER. ANYONE ELSE?

  7. I had such bad pain cramping and periods that my Dr put me on b.c. to "reteach" my hormones how to behave! I just went off of them again after taking them for 3 months and (besides a little worse than normal pms and a little worse period pain) I was basically back to normal. Talk to your doc, they can help!!

It may be an ovarian cyst.

I did not have a tubal, but felt the EXACT same way you did three months after my c-section. I initially felt wonderful after my c-section, healed nicely and then suddenly at 3mo post op I couldn't walk up the stairs some nights and felt like I was walking all hunched over the rest of the day. My ob finally did an ultrasound and I had a 5cm ovarian cyst. She suggested I start taking bcp, but I opted to wait it out. The pain subsided gradually, only flaring up for the two weeks between that egg ovulating and my period starting for about 3 more cycles. I haven't had any pain since.

    Feel better!

I too had a tubal with my C-section and I have had 3 periods since then.. They have been the absolute worst!! I have never had so much cramping, bloating, and especially bleeding... I know tmi... I never had periods like this before, I am calling my OB to see what they can suggest. I really dont want to go back on BCP, thats the whole reason for the tubal..

I think being "hunched over" 3 months after a procedure is cause to call the doctor....couldn't hurt, right? Good luck, I hope it's just your body readjusting! Feel better.....

I had a tubal at my c-section 11 weeks ago too. I just got my second period yesterday...which means I only had a 25 day cycle - Ugh! But before my tubal I had tremendous pain and cramping with the first 2-3 days of my period. However, I haven't had pain like that at all with these last 2 periods. The bleeding has been heavy for the first couple of days, but that is much easier to deal with than the mind-numbing pain. I was actually thinking of posting something because I was wondering how long it will take for my cycle to get regular again.

I would definitely call the doctor though and ask about the pain.

One of my good friends was just talking about this the other day. she said she has had nothing but pain since her tubal, cramps, awful periods, the whole nine yards. she said her Dr said all they could do was put her on BC to see if it would help
she said her mom told her she had same problems until she hit pre-menopause.
hope you get some relief soon

I also had a tubal and i had the same pain. when i finally got my period it was HORRIBLE. I cried for days about getting the tubal because i felt like i should have just used birth control and not have been in such pain. that weird feeling ifnally went away but the peiords are still bad. they have gotten better, but i am still goign to call the doctor if they are much better the next time. it is hard to take care of 3 children when you are curled up in a ball.

I had a tubal also and just got my first period last month. It was the worst one I've ever had. It was very heavy and painful, and boy, was I grouchy. To make matters worse, two weeks later I started again! I hope this is just my body getting back to normal.

Thanks everyone. I do feel better, although that pain lasted about a day and a half more. Still don't know what it was. Ovulating maybe? I guess I'll know if I (finally) get my period in two weeks or so. Sounds like that can be just as bad though. Thanks again for the help.
