I just took the kids for a walk and Tatiana lost her pacifier. I am exhausted and I don't want to pack them up to go to the store to pick up a new one. I just turned the house upside down looking for the other one with no luck. Should I just let her try to fall asleep without it for her nap in the hopes she will wean herself off it? Maybe this is a sign that she is ready to quit the paci habit altogether...

Personally I would, and did wean when that happened. It was about 36 hours of "bink bink" but it wasn't so hard!

I think this is the perfect opportunity to wean her. Good luck.

I think that this is your opportunity to get rid of the paci. It won't necessarily be easy, but it should happen quickly. We had about 2 rough days with Nolan (Meggie seemed better), but then he was over it. (They were 23 months). Good Luck!!!

I agree with the other moms, this is the perfect opportunity to get rid of the pacifiers. The longer you wait the harder it is going to be for them and you.
Remember out of site out of mind. My twins are 2 and we gave up the pacis when they were 11 months. It was harder for me when I would take them shopping there was nothing to keep them quiet except to eat a cracker. Now They look at other little kids their own age and call them babies when they see a paci in their mouth.
I would never say I did the right thing. Everyone is different and I believe there is no right or wrong way to raise your child. This is your decision if you feel this is a good opportunity take it.

    GOOD LUCK

I would use that as your opportunity too. Just an aside though, you really only had one? When we ditched binkies, I think each of them had at least 15! I was pulling them out of every crevice of the house and car!

Hee hee. One. Amateurs! We had 17 when we gave them away; but most of those were fished out of the couch cushions and from under furniture. Some we hadn't seen in years!

Yes, wean, but be prepared for lots of rough naps and nights ahead. It took ours almost a month to get over it.
