I am feeling pretty good after my run-in with mastitis, but boy, this week sucked the life out of me again. My mom ran herself down helping me out and ended up with pneumonia! So I had no help this week while hubby was at work. That was actually fine, because it really forced me into a routine, and I feel pretty confident now.

But then.. hubs goes away for the weekend to a wedding. Wedding is on Saturday, he books his frigging ticket for Thursday night and books the LAST flight home today. So I am alone for four whole days! It hasn't been too bad at all, but I am exhausted. And yesterday, he didn't even call because he was "out too late, and he didn't want to carry his cell phone with him". So I had no access to him at all.. what if there had been some kind of emergency? He didn't even tell me what hotel he was staying at!

The icing on the cake is that today is our first anniversary. And while he was sweet and bought me a spa package, I still think that a better gift would have been if he had been home helping me out!

Happy to say though that I am pretty proud of myself for taking care of the twins all week.. with minimal meltdowns :)

way to go!! you never know what you are capable of until you are forced into it!

i hope your mom recovers quickly, and when you do your spa package you should make sure that you are gone allllll day, with your cell phone off (yeah, right.. i could never do that either..) and then go to dinner with a girlfriend. just a little payback for his extended trip, but i am spiteful like that sometimes[IMG]

Oh, I feel your pain. The month after both of my boys came home from their long NICU stays, my husband had to go out of town for 3 days to be a groomsman in a wedding for his friend. This on top of fighting a yeast infection in my milk ducts that forced me to stop pumping for the boys and stopped any chance of trying to breastfeed. That was a fun long weekend
