I think my kids have just entered a not so good stage. They are driving me crazy with all the whining and crying. They fight over toys or just whine about any old thing. We have been doing Magic 1-2-3 now for about 6 months and I so thought things would be better, but it appears that it's getting worst. My stress level is at an all time high and that probably doesn't help things at all. DH just got a job in TX, so I have to get the house ready to put up for sale and get everything organized and ready for the move. I think I'm just overwhelmed with all the toys and things that need to get done. We don't have any family or friends here so I have no help whatsoever.

I wish I could just take them out to a park on my own, but they always run in opposite directions. They hate strollers and put up a fight anytime we go anywhere. It just feels like every day is so hard and by the end of the day I am so worn out.

Thanks for letting me vent. I feel like you all are the only ones who understand. My friends with singletons certainly don't get it.

I think it's the age Trish. Mine are constantly fighting, whining and testing me as well. Most days they drive me completely nuts! I feel for you! It would be hard to get organized for a move with all that going on! Will the company pay for your move? Hopefully they will do all the packing for you and you can just try to focus on getting rid of things before they come!

Yeah they will pay for all the moving etc. My main issue is getting the house ready to show while we are still living in it with the two tornadoes running around.

Hugs to you Trish! :hug99: I honestly do not know how any of you do it with no help. Is there anyone you could hire to help you out to go to the park or to be at your house entertaining the kids while you get stuff done? I can imagine the move is putting a lot of stress on you. Try and take it a 'task' at a time.

I agree with Melissa and think the age is a big factor as well. There is definitely a lot more whining going on in our house lately too and there is nothing more annyoying IMO than 2 whiny children.

Hang in there and feel free to vent away! :hug99:

I hadn't even thought of that aspect of it! No one would want to buy my house at the moment with all the kid junk everywhere!

:hug99: Trish! I hope it sells quickly!

hugs from one stressed out mommy to another. today sucks. maybe tomorrow will be better? It has to be, right?

do you have any parks that are fenced in? we have alot of those in our area so toddlers can't escape. helps alot. have you tried the "leashes"? I got the animal backpacks. doesn't work great, but helpful in certain situations (like at zoo or amusement park). do they like a wagon (instead of stroller)? we just got a wagon (on sale for less than 50%). haven't had time to assemble yet, but maybe sometime before they go off to college! Also got 'em a really discounted sandbox (again, no time to assemble or buy sand). never ending. never, ever a dull moment in my house. i need some quiet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    *hugs*

Trish, I feel your pain!! I was chasing naked Meghan around my sister's backyard today trying to get her dressed to go home. This was after my two ganged up on her 3 year old in the pool. I feel like No is a permanent part of my vocabulary and that they never listen to me.

I can't imagine trying to get my house ready to sell with all this stuff here. I didn't realize your hubby got the job....Congratulations!! Best of luck on the sale of your house.

I think we are all in the same phase with our twins right now!!

Trish, I am not that stage yet but I can imagine how two 2 year olds would feed off each other and constantly make the whining and crying and fighting worse. :hug99: See if you can get away tonight for a few hours or tomorrow. You definitely deserve it. :hug99:

Trish! Hang in there!!!! It is times like this where I wish we all lived close to each other so that we could at least help out. You have a lot on your plate, and I am sure that it certainly has an impact on your patience level. Thinking of you...

Oh gosh, I don't know how I would deal with a move with everything else! My heart goes out to you! I had an awful day today and broke down crying after I put them down for a nap (which they didn't take, of course). I yelled at them and I felt horrible about it, they would not go up the stairs, kept running away, not paying any attention to me.

    Hi Trish-
I had the same type of day today with the girls. It was terrible, and I ended up putting them to bed an hour early just so I could gain some sanity back. They have been fighting constantly and have been really learning "likes" and "dislikes". And if they don't get what they like they throw a fit. The whining just grates on my nerves, its like nails running down a chalkboard. I totally sympatize.

Do you have a sitter or something that could maybe take care of the kids for a while for you to get some alone time/packing done? Hang in there hun, :hug99:

Trish, I'm so sorry that you are going through so much right now. Hopefully your house sells quickly. As for the kids, it is definitely their age. That is when it starts. Try not to let them stress you out too much - This too shall pass!

i recently moved when they were about 22 months. I sold my house in 6 days and had to do an insane amt of things to it. It was very hard. PLUS I had a broken foot. I totally get where you are coming from doll, its hard. Very hard. This age, they know, but choose not to listen. They are testing every boundary out there. I am lucky that my kids get along so well, but since they have been 2, they take, push, scream, and fight. Since I implimented and stressed the importance of sharing its been getting better.

Just hang in! I had no help either, my whole family is 2 hours away!Hugs to you!

I hope things get better for you. It seems like we go in phases or stages here. ONe week will be really good- I feel like I can accomplish a lot with them and the next is in the dump. It gets really frustrating!!! Hugs!!! (And as many others have said, this too shall pass- which is true but I always had a hard time hearing it!!)

I hope for a better week for you!!!

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It is so incredibly helpful to know that we aren't the only ones going through this phase. :love0028:

I was just about to start a thread about the WHINING!!! It's making me crazy!! I'm crying with them sometimes!! With hubby out of town all week, I usually have a babysitter that will come once or twice a week and it saves my life, but she's been in finals for 2 weeks. With the in-laws here for a week, I felt like I had NO EXTRA HELP! Unbelievable!!! :icon_eek: So, I get where you are coming from.

I'm doing my best to get back out and playing tennis again. It's my lifeline and having been injured for the summer season, I missed it all!! So, I am JUST getting back into it!!

I think you should try the park again and work with them to listen. It will work, you can do it!! You have to keep trying. When they fail to listen and get to 3 maybe you do one time out in the stroller (since they hate it, it'll be a good punishment) and then if it happens again, you take them home. They'll get the point QUICKLY at this age!!

I broke down on hubby today because I didn't want to bring the kids home from lunch alone today for naps AGAIN! It turns out I just needed a partner in all of it today!

    WHERE IN TX?!
