overnite stay at L&D and my son nearly had to share his bday!

well when i wiped in the evening there was lots of blood-bright red so i called and said can this be my plug-she said no; red blood better come in--so our 4th trip to L&D we go:doh: everything seemed to be ok i just saw the OB thursday- i was a fingertip dilated soft--all of a sudden i started to have some pretty heafty contractions but nothing that was picking up on the monitor-babies looked great-around 9pm ob comes in and checks and im 2 cm dilated,he can feel the baby's head and im softening but still long. We were hoping to hear ok u can go home-nope-he said lets see where this goes and keep me overnite- moved to the delivery section and back on the monitors; cramping is getting pretty bad; contraxs coming more frequent but at 12am they really started to hurt-by now Brice has gone home for the nite-- Nurse asked me if i can feel those-umm yes!-i can see on the contraction meter it hits 60-75-hsnap: usually i see it at 12-20 :lol: ---she asks if i want any pain meds- so im given a shot of morphine; contractions still going on i can feel them but now its not as strong-drugs are great :rofl2: im exhuasted by now and all i want to do is sleep--it was nice i instantly felt groggy and crashed-i can feel the tightening every 10-15 mins but no pain:tigger: --at 4am i was awoken to a woman screaming in pain and everyone telling her to push-poor woman i think she went drug-free:hug: lots more screaming i heard the baby cry! awwwwwwww its a girl! 7 lbs 1 oz--
by 5am my contractions stopped- the cramping stayed- labour had stalled:doh: so home i go on bedrest again--we are all betting on 36 wks-any takers?:rofl2:
I could of just said back on bedrest but didnt you love my little story cause of bleeding-i over did it for sure cleaning and stuff-:busted:

 

I was in L&D last night too… I detailed in my “he took it out” post…. And my son’s birthday was last sunday… but it was BIG concern for him… he doesn’t mind sharing the month but NOT the day…
Glad you home and more comfortable… I remember hearing a woman deliver when I was having my son… scared the crap out of me… I think it’s what sent me into freak out…

Lets bet who delivers first… I bed you as I am not dilated…. But when??? April 18….

LOL i was a bit freaked out when i heard her screaming too! i love my epidurals and never felt the pain that late into labour or pushing --hmm i say you go first; these girls keep me on my toes but the contractions keep stalling each time they wont stop the labour thou when it does happen im going to wait til my water breaks before i go in agian :lol: arent those beds the worst? I had the IV drip, no food/drink til 9am i was starved breakfeast was so small; when DH came at 10:30am straight to Tim Hortons for a huge egg/bacon/cheese bagel and decaf --
IM glad DS didnt have to share is bday either; he is my baby 3 yrs old--

 

oh forgot-lets see delivery date for you : April 23th

I, for one, liked the longer - detailed version of the story AND I will agree with you that those L&D beds are the absolute MOST uncomfortable beds ever!! glad you got to come home and be more comfy (almost the EXACT same thing happened to me last weekend - I was 35+1 and was admitted - progressed to a 4.5cm and then things just sort of stopped... got sent home on bedrest - so those oh, so uncomfy beds are VERY fresh in my mind - LOL)

 

I so hate trips to L&D!! My last one was at 34 weeks but I swore after that one I wouldn't go in again till I was in really active labor or my water broke cause I hate being there so much. I've had lots of episodes since then but I just go to bed or have a warm bath and it eventually stops. Now I am soo ready for them to come.

This same thing almost happened to us; I was in LD the day my DD1 had her birthday party; we almost had to cancel the whole thing!

You're so close; can't wait to read your birth announcement!

 

my bed is def more comfy :lol: we have a betting pool going on 36 wks and 3 days seems to be the date the good news is i think i know all the on call obs and the nurses haha!

 

Great story!! Hang on to those babies a bit longer!!
