So, we have a graduation this weekend and we're all staying in the same hotel room. The babies sleep through the night, but I don't know if we will with them in the same room! LOL...anyway, I need recommendations about things that you have found very helpful while staying overnight in a place that may not have all of the conveniences of home. So far, I'm thinking Ziploc bags, but that's all that I can come up with...I'm having a major brain fart! Please help me out! Thanks!!!!

Whatchagonnado with those Ziplocs? Just joking, you can always find something to do with a Ziploc!

Ummm?? Earplugs? I don't know, my babies were not good sleepers away from home at that age. :escape:

A cooler for food and bottles(?)?

I'm obviously having a brain fart too. I'll try to come back when I think of something more helpful.

ok i will put you at ease. I took our 6.5 month old (5.5 months at the time) to Hilton Head with my mom, sister and her 2 kids for a week. Why you ask? Because I was bored and crazy. Anways, I overpacked but it was a good thing. My sister does not have twins but insisted on calling ahead to the hotel to ask for a pack n play to be set up in the room. She called on the way to and from HH and it was never set up. I brought 2 pnp and set them up myself because I am a germ a phobe and like knowing where my pnp have been. Anyways bring 2 of those and any white noise machines. I brought their sleep lamb that they always fall asleep to. Bring as many things to make it close to their room. I brought their night light too. As far as feedings went I brought the microwave steam sterilizer bags to clean the bottles. It was quick and easy. And I used LOTS of ziploc baggies :) especially the gallon sized ones!

    Good luck :)

    PNP
Blankets (hotel a/c can be funny to work)
Bottled water (if making formula bottles, unless you trust their tap water)
    White noise machine
Comforter from home (if you have room) so you can make a pallette on the floor for play time
    Bumbo?

The rest is mostly what you carry in a diaper bag anyhow. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

We stayed at a hotel when our kiddos were 6 months (for my SIL's wedding) and ours did go to sleep later then usual and woke up once for 5 minutes (because the other people on our floor were LOUD) . I would also recommend ziploc bags, a cooler for bottles (our hotel did not have a refrigerator or microwave), we also brought their pack and play for them to sleep in. I would also recommend to bring anything that you use for their nighttime routine (music, white noise, night light). Earplugs for you and DH so you can sleep through the music. Plenty of clothes, diapers and wipes. Good luck!

Ditto the white noise machine and cooler. I filled a cooler with ice and water bottles during the day.

I like to take my own bath towels for the kids because they are ones with hoods and bigger than the hotel ones. Also a bath mat for the tub.

Finger foods like puffs (if they like them).

Are they crawling? Do you need to babyproof? If so, you need outlet stuff.

Formula, diapers, wipes, bottles, bottle brush, extra clothes, blankets / cuddly toys / binkies / sleep sacks, medication, snacks (if they eat any), disinfection wipes / hand wash, jar food, favorite toys ... just bring your regular routine to the hotel and everything that comes with it ...

And personally ... I would get another connecting room but that's just me ... we don't do well in the same room. We always had 1-bedroom (or more) suites or we take connecting ... otherwise nobody sleeps.

PPs have given lots good ideas for things to bring, so i just wanted to add - remember to go with the flow. travelling often throws babies off their routine - the first vacation we took with the girls (when they were 6.5 months) threw their routine way off. at that point i had one girl STTN and the other only waking once but the first night in our hotel i was up 5 times between the two of them, so be prepared for the possibility of not getting much sleep. other than that though, the vacation went pretty smoothly & we had a good time.
