Why are these babies so darn smart??!! I thought my 2yo was exceptionally bright (even as a baby) but I think Gabriel is going to give me a run for my money!!

He has learned to open the sliding glass door out to our patio. Yesterday I had to get him repetedly and bring him back in. I let them go on the patio to play a lot, but Gabe has decided that he wants to climb up onto the plastic picnic table and hang over the edge of the patio! I know he is going to fall over and crack his head on the concrete sidewalk. In a blink of the eye, he is out the door & on the table! [IMG]

So we have a metal fencing/play yard type thing that we use when we take our dog camping. I took it and put it up all across the sliding glass doors and the entertainment center! [IMG] It's not pretty AT ALL, but he is not opening the door and he is not turning the DVD player on and off!

    Just had to share.

Anyone else have to get creative to outsmart the kids? [IMG]

He's actually playing the same game all the time, it's called "How long can I do this before Mommy catches me?" It's kind of like "Beat the Clock" for babies. [IMG] Have you considered duct taping him to the wall? [IMG] [IMG]

What about putting a dowel to block the door from opening? Like a sliding door security bar?

    Just an idea.

I used to say this to my little girl all the time. She was about 4 and thought it was really funny. But one day, her grandma said she could do something (I forget what) and she said "No, grandma...mama would duct tape me to the wall!" Took a little explaining.

These kids are so smart! Just amazing the things they can think of to get into.

Mine FINALLY got a hold of the cat food this morning. She's been trying to sneak over to it for a couple of weeks and I always catch her before she gets to it. I *thought* the baby gate was locked in the kitchen, but guess not. She got at least one piece in her mouth before I caught her! ICK

They are getting fast, aren't they! And wow, when they want to be sneaky, they sure are quiet!!!
