Are there any covers for outlets that have things plugged into them? I don't want the twins to unplug anything. I've seen covers, but they were for unused outlets

They do have outlet covers where you can pull a tab and the prongs open so you can plug something into them. And then when it is not in use its seals back up. Is that what you are referring too?

We have the entire covers replaced in the basement, with outlets that swivel to let the item be plugged in, and swivel back to cover if nothing is plugged in (if that explanation makes sense). I would absolutely not recommend them though, things do not stay plugged in and I'm ready to replace them all and use the little plug in things we have upstairs.

Maybe something like this would work better than we have.

I think I know what you mean, I was just trying to explain to my DH this morning that yes, the outlet covers block the outlets, but if a child pulls the cord out, he can still sit there and chomp on the cord - that's what I'm trying to avoid. So, even if the outlet cover closes itself once the cord is out, what then? That's what I'm wondering.... any thoughts?

yes that it! I don't want them to be able to unplug the cord all together. I did see someting online, but wanted to go to a store and get it. :)

I just found this online, is this what you saw too? I bet you could get it at a store locally somewhere, maybe Babies R Us? I'm going to try to find some too...

    Outlet Cover & Cord Shortener
    Price Range: $3 - $9
    Product rating:
Great idea! This clever outlet cover lets you childproof wall outlets that are in use, while hiding up to 4 ft. of loose, tempting electrical cords. Simply remove the existing faceplate, screw in the safety plate, wind the cord, and snap on the tamper-resistant lid. 2 per pack.

I use the full cover/cord shortener and got them from Walmart/ToysRUs and they are great and then Ikea has cord covers. They are white and stick to the wall. My Hubby just used those thingys that you use to nail cords to walls/baseboards to secure the cords att he top and bottom and the cord covers made it so none of the cord is seen and little fingers cannot pull it out of the wall.

Mind you my single two year old pulled the whole contraption off the wall a few times in his room and then lost interest.

I liked that the cord is secure and hidden!

    Hope this gives you ideas!
