We have this huge backyard with nothing in it. We bought a little pool that I don't like at all so we plan to get another one. Any other ideas? My girls love going outside but I want to give them more to do out there. Are the mini plastic slide things worth it? What about sand or water table at this age? I think they would like it but wanted to hear other pp opinions. They've been walking since 10 months and are starting to try to climb stuff. Open to any suggestions! TIA.

    Little Tykes playhouse
    Sand and Water Table
    Picnic table for snacks
    Swings
Sprinkler that spins around would be fun
T-ball tee, with bat and ball

We had a slide for Justin and Hannah, but it was a little tippy. It made me nervous.

We have a sand table which the girls love. We are contemplating buying the Little Tykes playhouse with the swing extension.

My girls also like thing that blow bubbles.

We have the Step Two Kangaroo Climber. It's at Toys-R-Us for around $115.00. Totally worth it. My boys love it and we are like you and outside all day long. I also have a rainbow Play system for older kids with two swings on it. My boys obviously aren't big enough for the system, but love to swing. If you have a place to hang a swing-- defiantely a hit here. The climber is awesome especially for little ones.

This is what we have for our backyard (we started collecting them around that age) and I wouldn't trade a thing. Most of the items I bought used through my twins club.

    Little Tikes Playhouse
    kangaroo climber
    castle climber with swing
Step 2 Up and Down Roller Coaster
    Step 2 teeter totter
Step 2 sand/water table (we just use it as a water table)
    cozy coupe cars
    tricycles
    picnic table
    lots of balls
digging toys, buckets, watering cans, etc for the dirt planters
    easel

I actually need to do the same thing myself. We have basically no outdoor toys. Although mine aren't walking yet, so it isn't as big of a deal. But something to disctract DS from eating rocks when we go out! We went out this afternoon & I ended up letting them play in the P&P with measuring spoons. :( But I did set up a bubble machine right by them & they loved that! They also have a wagon that they love to play in. At Grandma's house, though, she has something like this which they LOVE. Right now they can both fit in it, which is nice. She also has this one and DD loves to sit in it while DS pushes her around.

When I was a kid we had one of these - my mom used it for 8 kids and we all loved it! Might work for outside.

I just looked on TRU website & they have a category for "outdoor play" - lots of good ideas!

The Kangaroo Climber looks like a great deal. I think we may get that.

We have a water table that the babies love (Step 2, I think). It's just water with a water wheel.

We love our slide! Any sand stuff is good! Push toys, lawn mower, balls etc.

I also started buying things around 1 year...although they still aren't great at some of them and I'm a nervous wreck when I'm out there alone with them (99% of the time) b/c I'm constantly running after Nick who is obsessed with eating rocks whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Here are the items we have (and like pp, wouldn't trade a thing)

    Caterpillar swing for 2
    Little Tikes Climbing Cube
    Little Tikes Picnic Table
    Water Table
    Wagon

I've got my eyes peeled for a Pea-pod rocker on Craigslist and my twin club classified site.
