OUR TWINS HAVE ARRIVED @ 33 WKS

Hi all,

Just a quick note to let you all know that our beautiful twins arrived Friday 24th August 2007 33wks 2 days - earlier than expected and a very quick delivery but so far so good!!

Our little girl Jazmin Sky Jago was born first normal delivery @ 23.50 weight 5lb 2oz followed by our little boy Troy Robert Jago breech delivery @ 23.57 weight 4lb 11oz

Was transfered from Chesterfield Royal to Liverpool Womens as this was the nearest hospital with beds avaliable - was all very exciting blue lights flashing on M1 and M62 lol

Arrived at Liverpool Womens 21.30 felt fine - waters had broken but wasnt having any contractions, was checked and told cervix was still closed and they wasnt expecting anything for at least 36hrs. At 23.30 started getting somestrong pain and at 23.45 buzzed nurse as i felt i needed to push - was all straight forward managed on gas and air - oh yes and nearly broke Pauls hand! Jazmin arrived and Paul said i had 10 mins or Troy would have different birthday and there was no way i was letting that happen he was born 7 mins later lol

Both were taken to ITU put in incubator given oxygen after about an hour we was allowed to see them (longest hr of our lives!) they looked so small and fragile just wanted to hold them but coudnt. After a day they was transfered to high dependency unit coz they had improved on breathing but was being fed through a tube temp monitored. On Tuesday 28th August they was transfered back to Chesterfield and are now in SCBU there. They have improved so much. They both are alot more alert, have better colour and are feeding every 2 feeds via bottle.

We are both so very proud of them just cant wait to get them home and enjoy them.

Anyway got to go im off the hospital now will keep you all updated. Will post some pics later!

Congrats! Those are GREAT weights! I just had my twins at 33 weeks exactly and they weighed 3 lbs 13 oz and 3 lbs 15 oz. Good job Mama!

Congrats, glad to hear that are doing so well for being so early and their weights are wonderful. Truly an inspiration!!!!

 

Congratulations on your twins! Although it can be stressful having twins in the NICU remember to take care of yourself! Once again congratulations!

 

Congratulations! I was looking at the times they were born and thinking that you were lucky Robert wasn't born just 3 minutes later! Good job on the very expedient pushing!
