Our Twins Came Early

Last Tuesday our twins arrived at 33 1/2 weeks due to the findings on an NST test. Anna's heart rate was in the 190's and would drop down to 65 or so for 15 seconds at a time or so. They wheeled me to Labor and Delivery and continued to monitor and see the same results, then decided it was time for them to come out. They are doing fine, did not need oxygen and may have developed Twin to Twin Transfusion at the end due the their weight discrepancy. The last ultrasound they were both within 3 ounces of each other at around 4 lbs. Big difference now. You can see pictures and the birth story on our blog address here. What gorgeous girls! I read your blog and had a big cry for you, hope you have found your way back to be with them since. If I didn't live on the other side of the world I'd totally look after your kids for you or drive you in. Hope they are thriving under the care of the nurses and you can move on to the next stage of life with your family all together soon.

Thank you everybody. They will be coming home on Thursday providing that they maintain their body temperatures outside of their isolettes. So, we are very happy and trying to enjoy our last bit of sleep before they come home. ; ) I have been seeing them pretty regular and just got back from seeing them tonight. Anna is 5 lbs 1 ounce now and Tabitha is catching up at 4 lbs 9 ounces and starting to look more like the identical twins that they are.
