Our twins arrived June 19th!

Jane Anne (Baby A), was 4 pounds, 4 ounces, 16.5 inches was born at 5:20pm. Mary Christine, 4 pounds, 13 ounces, 19 inches was born at 5:21pm on June 19th at 33 weeks and 6 days!

I checked into the hospital Monday night with contractions, which turned out to be an irritable uterus caused by a bladder infection. They didn't like my blood pressure and have been worried about pre-e for a while now, so they decided to keep me. My pressures came way down, but on Thursday morning, the Peri saw baby A's fluid level was down so he decided Thursday was the day for my c-section.

They're both in the NICU and doing really well. Both were put on oxygen and both came off of that after a day, and Baby B is eating from a bottle all of the time, but had a few episodes of sleep apnea. They think they'll need to stay a total of two weeks.

My c-section went well, but I was really hurting yesterday. Today is much much better and I took a shower and got some make up on and got dressed. I even walked all of the way to the NICU and back! I'm trying to figure out my breast pump and how to get that going now, and the lactation specialist is on her way in.

I can't get over how cute the baby girls are! The staff in the NICU is so wonderful and have taught me so much already. It's not a scary place at all and the girls are getting so much love and attention there. Plus, I'm getting lots of rest at night and have bounced back really quickly. I don't want to go home without them, but since they were early and I've been on bedrest for ten weeks, there are a few things I need to do next week to get ready for them!

Congrats - your girls have a great birthday! (my boys were born on June 19, 2003 - those five years have flown by, so enjoy them!)

Congrats Trudy!!!! Take this time to recover. Believe it or not, those 2 weeks went by pretty fast for me
when my girls were born at 32 weeks and 2 days and Nicu- 2 1/2 weeks. With resting, pumping and going to
NICU everyday it went by fast! Good weights!
