Wow! DH and I are parents to 2 beautiful babies. Molly was born at 9:34am, weighs 4 lbs 13 oz, and 17 inches long. Owen was born at 9:35 am, weighs 4 lbs 11oz, and is 18 inches long.
They are in the NICU - and that's been hard on me. I am recovering from a c-section so I've only got to see my sweet litle babies once. I can't walk because of the cathetar (sp?). Benjie and all the grandparents have spent a lot of the day with Owen and Molly.

It looks like they are hooked up to lots of things - but it's all just for monitoring. The twins are hooked up to oxygen (just regular air level oxygen), body temp, and heartrate. They are so cute :) The NICU nurse thinks they will spend a couple weeks there. I am hoping for about a 2 week stay. They are strong babies. Molly and Owen are big babies!!

The c-section was pretty easy. I just felt like I couldn't take a deep breath - that freaked me out a little. I was in recovery for about an hour and then came back to the room. Benjie went with Molly and Owen to the NICU - they had their daddy with them the whole time. They offered me morphine, but I haven't taken any of it yet. My incision doesn't hurt too bad. I did throw up after the c-section. My body must not have liked some of the drugs they gave me.

We will probably be here at least 2 more nights. We live an hour away from this hospital - we will be making the trip every day to spend time with Molly and Owen. I can't imagine leaving here without them.... but I do know it's necessary.

I get to shower tomorrow and have the cathetar removed. It will be much easier for me to visit the NICU in a wheelchair (maneuvering the big hospital bed wasn't too much fun for everyone).

Hug your beliies and love the fact that your little ones are staying put. I miss their movements - but seeing them in person is so amazing. They truly are the cutest babies.

I will have to wait and post pictures after I'm released..... I can't hook up our digital camera to this computer (sorry girls!). I'm sure I have left a lot out - but the magnesium sulfate IV is kicking my butt - double vision, hot flashes.... this stuff is NO fun! I'll post again tomorrow and let you all know how things are going. I'm waiting on the lactation consultatnt to visit our room and get me a pump.

Congrats on your babies! Sounds like they were good size. I hope you are feeling better- I know how bad that mag makes you feel- it took me a good 3-4 days to get feeling better after being off of it.
Hopefully you will be feeling better tomorrow when you can get up and move! I hope your babies have a short NICU stay :)

Congratulations on your babies... have to say I love Molly's name. (I am considering the same name for my girl!) I am looking forward to seeing pictures. I think it's great that they are doing so well. I hope their stay in the NICU is short and you will be able to take them home soon. Feel better and congratulations again! :clapping:

    Congrats!
It's great to hear that your babies are big! It must be very hard for you to be away from them, but you sound so positive and it will be great when you can get over to see them more soon. I am glad your c-section went well and hope you are feeling better every day. Best of luck to you!
Can't wait to see pictures... :)

WOW, those are some GREAT weights for 32 weeks!!! My biggest at 34 weeks was only 4.8. Great job on growing those babies! SOunds like they are doing really well. I hope they keep up the good work and have a short NICU stay. I can't wait to see their pictures! Sorry you are having a touch time with the mag IV. That stuff is NO fun (I was on it for 4 days), but you will feel like a totally different person once that is gone and you get the cath out and can shower and get out of best.

    Congrats Mom and Dad!!!!

I am so happy to hear of such a good outcome. I was thinking of you all day and hoping you'd be able to post. I am sorry you live an hour away from the hospital, I know that will make it even more difficult. Hopefully they won't be in too long. Take it easy and allow yourself to recover. Oh, and take the morphine if you need it! Congrats, Lisa

    Congrats!

My nephew & neice were born at 33 weeks. They are beautiful and healthy 3 year olds.

Having them in the Nicu is hard. I hope they get to come home soon!
