Well...we were supposed to have it last week but because Lucas ran a fever of at least 106 of unknown origin (after lots of tests), we got it rescheduled for yesterday. My little guys are still on the smaller side but growing well along their growth curves (sitting right below the 3% line).

Lucas was 17.5lbs and 27 3/4 inches tall and Jonas was 18lbs and 28 inches tall.

They handled the shots (got 4 of the 5...the Hib was in low supply and since it was a booster they will give it at the 15 month visit). I expected a fever but they did well...gave tylenol before the shots and I gave some last night and this morning because they are notorious for running fevers.

I did not expect a blood draw yesterday but the ped said they've instituted a new policy of drawing blood for blood count and lead testing on all one year visits as recommended by the CDC. They got Jonas on the first stick but Lucas had to be stuck twice (poor guy after having been stuck 4 times last week for an iv).

Anyway...we got the okay to start milk so we tried it last night. Ped recommended a bottle at a time and to put milk in the bottle. Something about taking away formula and the bottle at the same time. Well the boys were not drinking it out of the bottle (they would take a drink, look at the bottle, take a drink, look at the bottle...like something just wasn't right) so I tried it in the sippy cups and they did great. Jonas drank 6 oz and Lucas drank about 5 so I can live with that. I had major concerns about this and hopefully they'll continue to do well (they want their formula really warm so I was worried about "cold" milk).

Well, just wanted to update y'all and hopefully they'll continue doing well. Now if I could only keep them in a bubble so they wouldn't get sick all the time, we'd be even better off.

For your fear of cold milk, I've been letting the bottle "sit out" for at least 5 minutes or more before giving it to them, so it's not so ICY! We're also transitioning, but we're mixing 4 oz milk with 4 oz formula, and that kinda evens out the temp.
