Morning Ladies (and any gentlemen that might be lurking),

We had our NT scan yesterday. The scan tech immediately inspired confidence by being unable to get the computer to produce the correct due date. I had to tell her that the date of conception is retrieval not transfer. No joke or confusion: she actually said the date of transfer is the date of conception. Now I wouldn't expect a random person on the street to know that, but someone who works in a peri's office, who is literally in the business of pregnancy, really ought to have a vague clue about how IVF works. :umm:

We won't get the final results for a week  due to them having to send the bloodwork off to New York, but the measurements all looked good. :woohoo: I knew they'd look more like babies, but I was surprised to see them moving around like that.

I didn't really like the doc. With the doc it was as if I wasn't in the room. Unfortunately, I've seen enough female docs in 'female medicine' to know that this is unfortunately par for the course. I just mention it so that if necessary you ladies can make sure to engage your DHs into the conversation when they come along. I'm sure you all can identify with being ignored by a doc at some point so you know how it feels.

We have the same issue as some of the other poster with the peri and the OB: she spent 15-20 minutes interviewing DW and talking about courses of action. Luckily we have an appt with the OB today so we can try to resolve that issue up front.

How exciting to see the babies moving around, huh! I know what you mean by ignorant ultrasound people .... I've had a TON and I can tell the good ones from the bad ones. Unfortunately the ultrasound tech at my ob office really annoys me. She does not talk at all or let you see the screen while she's doing her exam ... which is forver. Then she will let you see/listen for a very short amount of time. Ugh. She didn't say a word when she saw the twins she just turned on the screen after she was done ... and I was like 'twins'!!!!

I've never had an ob or doc ignore my husband though.... actually my husband usually annoys me when we're at appointments because he asks questions that I could have answered and I feel like he wastes our time! It's just like a husband though to not want to go to his wife for answers!

This office had a second screen across from the foot of the table, which was nice and made DW much more comfortable. It wasn't as good of quality so I asked if I could stand behind the tech. She claimed she'd be going back and forth to the other computer... and then never moved a muscle. Oh well, we can't let the boneheads ruin our days... there are to many of them!

After an epic struggle with 3 different scanners, I finally got the images scanned in:
    http://family.webshots.com/album/571599639YriXCy

One thing to note: they printed DW's SSID directly on the image header. I caught it and cropped it out. That's not something you'd want to post on webshots!

The OB appt was yesterday. Pretty much a non-event (though I'm not complaining!)

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Lots of this:

    None of this: :drinks: :drinks:

Wow Mike those pics are amazing. We just had a scan at 9+ weeks. Incredible how much more you can see at 12 weeks. Really gives you an appreciation for how fast they are developing. It even looks like your twin A is sucking their thumb in one of the shots!

Yep. The sonotech claimed that wasn't the case, but she was the one who couldn't get a correct due date out of the computer. As far as I'm concerned (and the photo is captioned) that was grade-A expert thumb sucking!

I guess I'm the middle case. I make sure I'm very well informed but don't bother to ask many questions. It seems like too much effort to get a useful detailed response out of most docs. I'll have to modify that with the OB since he should get to know me well enough to skip to the useful parts. :D

I actually had the opposite problem with DH and my ob with my DD. My ob at the time was a lt col in the air force, so the couple appts my DH was able to make it to, my ob practically ignored me and spent the entire time talking to my DH about military stuff etc . He was an incredible dr though and i was said when he retired.

Glad to hear your lil munchkins are doing so well, they look great! WTG you guys!

Thats funny you say that about the female doctors. I have the opposite issue I actually excused myself as she would not even make eye contact with me. I went to the nurses station and made another appointment with a different doc, came back in the room where she was still talking to DH and told DH we could go as our appointment with our Dr was next week. She looked shocked but still never said anything to me, as we were walking out the office manager was talking about how she is "doing it again" Give me a break that is the one time I think that any female should figure out that a man is more than taken.

I love your pictures! My oldest was sucking his thumb in the womb and had figured out how to suck it again by the time he was 2 weeks.

LOVE your NT scan pictures ~ ours were our favorite pictures out of all of our scans!

My DH would ask me one bazillion questions before & after the appointments but never ask the OB! :umm:
I started to keep a notepad with me at all times so I could jot our ?'s down :good:

Sorry you aren't crazy about the Dr. ~ maybe with time you will grow to like her?

I will proudly do lots of  and :drinks: this weekend for our expecting momma's who can't!! ;)

Ah man, I SO dont have this problem with the doc and my husband. Those two are like two little boys gone wild when they're in the room together. We have been through a miscarriage, a surgery and other internal procedures with my OB so we all know each other really well and my doc and husband get a big kick out of comparing stories about how crazy I am. And my doc LOOOOOVVVVEEESSS to talk so never a problem for either of us to get him to answer questions.

Now THATS crazy!! Good for you though to walk out.

Honestly, and this might offend some, but I have never in my 32 years of life had a woman doctor that I liked and thats especially true of gynecologists. There has always been a bedside manner problem for me. Most of my girlfriends prefer female docs but not me. Wouldnt dare have one as my OB given past experience.

Great pics!!! SO sorry you're having issues with your docs. I know any of the women docs I saw last time wouldn't even help me up off the table after examining me...uh hello...I'm huge! I definitely think women docs have the "you're pregnant not an invalid" way of thinking, or at least the ones I have come into contact with. Good luck!!
