Our milestone week

Well, I am happy to report that 1 of 2 is now off the pacifier! Katelyn lost it at my mom’s house on Monday and I told her we had one at home. When we got home of course I could not find it and explained to her that it was lost, but she is a big girl now and did not need it. She asked for it a few times and then fell asleep! No crying, whining- nothing. Slept fine and has done the same for all of her naps and bedtime since then-- 4 days now. My mom did eventually find it but I told her to throw it away!! I cannot believe how easy this was with her (and me!) :banana: I know it will be much harder for Blake, but at least this is a start!

Then... Mr. Blake who mind you, never really cared if he was sitting in a dirty diaper or not asked to use the potty on Sunday... twice! I was like okay- I will just go with this and see what happens.. well, I am happy to report 5 days later that he had been using the potty fully during the day for the last 2 days!! Again, I cannot believe how easy this has been! And can I say he is SO proud of himself every time he sits on the potty and goes!! :wub:

Anyway, I just had to share as I have been delaying the inevitable of taking away the pacifier and starting to potty training and cannot believe how easy this has been for each of them. Not saying I am in the clear by any means but at least this is a start, right?! :good:

Thats wonderful Nicole! Ryan is still paci obsessed and I am really dreading taking it away. Sofia never had really took to them. It's great to hear about the potty training. I hope ours follow in the same footsteps!

 

Congratulations. I sure hope that potty training Whit goes just as smoothly. Right now, he could careless about sitting in a dirty diaper. Sounds like things are going well.

That's great! I also am dreading that day. They seem to get more attached to it each day. Congrats with the pottying too!

Thank you ladies. I honestly was not planning on taking away the paci from Katelyn-- but the opportunity kind of presented itself and I thought let's give it a shot. She has done great. I have no plans to take it away from Blake. He is down to one and has 2 holes in it even! I keep telling him it is getting yucky and we need to throw it away... but he is very attached and I want him to be the one to give it up!

Ironically the potty thing also just kind of "happened" and we are running with it. Katelyn has been the more interested one in the past, but lately not so much--- so we will let her come around on that when she is ready!
