Our girls are here....

Our girls were born last nght on July 15th at 12:26 and 12:27 via c-section.
Baby A 2.09 lbs
Baby B 2.15 lbs

We still have no names yet.

It was rather scary and will tell the story later, I am still recovering from the pain meds they are making me pretty ill. I have get to start pumping but home to feel better in the next few hours so i can get the process started.

The girls are doing well for their gestation. Neither had been incubated yet. I only saw them for a brief time last night cause i was feeling so nausous, and haven't been to see them yet today as I'm still really nausous (almost like motion sickness.

Lex is really having a hard time and is very worried. He's not allowed in the nicu so won't see the girls till they come home in 4-6 weeks.

 

Well Congratulations ! I am a little surprised to hear you had them already. I hope all is well and that you start to feel better soon. I pray that you all stay healthy. Send pictures when you can.

Well I am feeling much better this afternoon. I finally got to start pumping, nothing yet. I also felt well enough to go down and visit the girls. I got a few pics but dh is bringing my usb cord tomorrow so i can download to share.
The girls are doing well and fighting strong. I got to kiss and touch them, sounds like I also might get to do skin to skin care tomorrow as well. In the next day or so the girls should be doing well enough to be put in a bassinet together, this will be so great for both of them. They have also started a feeding tube on both girls.

my story....
My water ruptured during the day after I got back from my first trip to L&D. So we ened up going back in, but were not having any contraxs so we thought I was just going to end up on hospital rest for the next few weeks, but then around 9 or so the contrax started and in hard and fast. I was given turb to slow down the contrax and that seemed to help, I had to wait for the doc to finish up with the c-section he was doing. It was then my turn and I was given a spinal anestetic, wow was that helpful. The Girls were deliver and taken to the nicu to get them cleaned and breathing. I was wheeled into recovery and got to see them for a few minutes around 3am, but was really sick so just went back to my room.

Congratulations! I just posted to your L&D thread, and then saw this. I am glad to hear they are doing well, but my thoughts are with you during this time. I can only imagine how hard it must be to have them in the NICU. Keep up with the pumping. It took me one whole week of pumping around the clock, day and night, every three hours before my milk came in. Take care of yourself and please keep us posted on their progress.

 

I am happpy to hear you are feeling better. My nephew was a singleton born at 28 weeks and it was a long NICU stay but he did great. Just feeding and growing and pumping for my sister in law and skin to skin contact. They had a 2 year old at the time,too, and it was hard on her but luckily she doesn't remember any of it.Many prayers, best of luck, your girls sound like they are doing amazing. Girls do better when born premature than boys. I don't know why but they do.

Congratulations on your babies. I hope they grow fast so they can come home soon. I know it is hard seeing your babies in the NICU. I had a week to deal with it and I cried every day. Now Vincnet is home and even though he is only 4lbs. 5oz. he is a strong little man. I am sure yours will do just as well. :hug99:
