Hey all! Our girls were born June 23rd! I knew I wouldn't make it to the July 5th C-section date but we got to bring them both home!

I just went to my NST as I had been doing and I had posted the night before that I was nesting and asked about how long it would take before labor came after nesting. Well I got my answer, at least for my body I was in labor and didn't know it. My first 3 pregnancies I had been so afraid of the delivery that I freaked out with every contraction or pain. But this one I guess it felt like the initiation was over and I knew what to expect, or so I thought. Anyway my Dr. didn't deliver and wasn't on call---the on call Dr. was the exact same Dr. that delivered my oldest son, and also the one I DIDN'T like. He really has changed :pardon: . Well, the on call Dr. said that he wanted the nurse to check me before I was to leave. I had passed the NST but I had been contracting the entire time and didn't feel but 2 of those contractions. Well, they checked me and I had Dialated to 4cm and they wanted to keep me for a little whle to make sure that I wasn't in labor. Well in 2 hours I had dialated to 5 but when the on call Dr. came and checked he said 3 to 4 cm (his hands were bigger than the nurses hands). They wanted an U/S and that was done around 2pm. Baby A was head down and being pushed aside by Baby B's head. Both were head down and fighting over who was coming out first. At my appt last week I was dialated at 1 1/2 and Baby A's head was right there being sat on. But at this u/s both were head down but neither head was touchable. So we had to wait until either I kept dialating or we could do the c-section that after noon. But I wouldn't be going home without these babies. We were told that the c-section could be done between 4:30 and 5pm.

So, They moved me to another room to prep me for the c-section. I didn't feel anything contraction wise except that my belly would get tight but I felt no pain except that dull ache in my lower back. They got the catheder in and at 4:05 the anestesiaolgist came in to talk to me. At 4:15 I started to cry and told my husband that I wanted to try the vaginal delivery, and he said that it was my body and to do what I felt was right. So, we called the Dr. back in and cancelled the C-section 15 minutes before they were to come and take me to the OR. Yes I changed my mind! I still got the tubal but not the c-section.

So they took the catheder out and let go to see if I would dialate any more. I didn't sleep very well mainly because of the contractions and that aggrivating ache in my back--lol so I watched TV and dosed here and there in a sitting position. Around 4 am the Dr. came in and checked me and I had dialated to 5 cm according to him and he said that he'd break my water to get things going faster. So around 7:35am the Dr. and nurse came in and broke my water. My husband had just come back from smoking and the Dr. left the room. I felt this HUGE kick and the hardest contraction that I had ever felt. I wanted to cry. I had the second contraction and felt an immediate need to push and told the nurse, and she ran to call the Dr. and grab her scrubs to get me to the OR. She came back and checked me. I had went from 5cm to 10cm in 2 contractions plus that kick. The Dr. didn't even have a chance to run to his office across the street from the hospital. they paged him to come back. They broke my water at 7:40am and they were wheeling me into the OR at 7:50am I had a total of 11 contractions and 3 pushes, Saturday June 23rd 2007 at 8:01am with a Giant Gush of fluids that soaked the Dr. from the neck down and soaked the floor (the look on his face was priceless), Aubrey Meshell was born weighing in at 6 pounds and 12 ounces, 19 1/4 inches long, head circumferance of 13 3/4, and didn't cry until she got on the warmer. Next the Dr. let my husband (whom by the way almost missed Aubrey being born because the Dr. let him in later than he should have) cut the cord and did the cord blood test to send off to find out the blood type and DNA. All this time I had no contractions until the Dr. broke Baby B's water. When he broke B's water her whole arm came out hand in a fist and then she opened her hand. The Dr. had to (sorry if TMI) stick his hand in and on B's head to make sure that I didn't break her arm while I pushed her out. So with three pushes, at 8:12am Avarey Dawn was born weighing in at 6 pounds even, 19 1/4 inches long, and head circumferance 13 1/4 and also didn't cry until she go to the warmer. The Dr. did the testing things with the cord. and that was it.

The placentas were fused together, but can still be ID. Both are the same blood type O NEG like me and my other 3 kids. Aubrey was BF first time after delivery at about 8:55 to about 9:20 with no problems latching on and afterward she was taken to be checked out she started having problems with her breathing. She was on oxygen, IV fluids, and the tent thing around her head from about 10am on. The tent was removed on Sunday night, and the IV was taken out Monday afternoon. She came home with us on Tuesday. Avarey, however, had problems breathing at first and then cleared up around 4pm on Saturday afternoon Swapping places with her sister. The pediatric Dr. said that it isn't normal for the first baby to have problems right after delivery, and said that it's usually the second baby that does. She stayed on 24 our watch Saturday to Sunday, and was cleared to room with us Sunday night, and she was released with me on Monday. Both girls eat about every 3 hours. so they are strtching the milk -- lol -- which came in Monday on MASS production! I was so full I had to pump out everything and dump due to the surgery and then I had to start over with a new scedule to follow along with our girls.

I got the Tubal done Monday morning and haven't had any problems. I had a DRUG FREE AND NATURAL DELIVERY!!! The only drug that was given was pitocine for contracting my uterus back to normal. There was no time for me to even ask for drugs--lol. It was kind of hard to move around when I have to get up but the more I am up the more I can do for my babies. Breast feeding has been excellent this time and I plan to continue for a while, but not sure how long yet. They both get hungry at the same time luckily and so I can have them fed and get back to what ever I need to be doing. And I didn't even break a sweat or tear up with this delivery. Not even a hot or cold flash--lol.

Thank you all for you support and I plan to continue to reply for all the new mommies to be!
Thanks again and Lots of love!

Congrats on your big healthy girls and a drug free delivery. I'm glad you were able to do vaginal and get your tubal all at once. I'll be right behind you, but it's csection for me, as BABY A is still breech <_< .

    Take care,

Congratulations!!! They are beautiful. You said they were going to be big. I was thinking about you today since you have not been on in a few days. I had a feeling you had your girls. Has the swelling in your feet gone down?

well the swelling got worse. my hoohoo swelled up on one side only and the Dr. couldn't tell me why and thought that i might had an alergic reaction to latex, which was used every time they checked me <_< but the swelling in my legs still hasn't gone down yet. it is hard to stay in bed when i have to help pack our stuff in the trailer to move back in the house for next week. our house still isn't done yet and we are still in the trailer. but a friend of mine gave us a basinett that is a double basinet for twins! i love this thing! so we are going to co-bed them for a little while.

Thank you all for your replies!
