Our girls are here!

My girls decided to make their entrance into the world on Friday 6/26 (a week before the scheduled induction on 7/2). Everything was kind of chaotic - I went to my OB appointment on Friday morning and he said that they were somewhat concerned about Baby B's weight (she was in the 10th percentile) so the perinatologist recommended delivering them during the 37th week (which started on Friday). So over to L&D I went. As soon as I got in the bed, I started having contractions on my own - every two minutes and I was 2-3 cm dilated. So the waiting game began. Contractions continued so they didn't start pitocin until I hit 5 cm when things started slowing down (when I also got the epidural). About an hour later I was up to 6-7 cm and they decided to break my water - expecting labor to continue for a few hours. Well - 30 minutes later I was fully dilated and ready to go. They literally ran me down the hallway to the OR - yelling at me not to push the whole way. Elizabeth Grace arrived at 8:54 pm - weighing 5 lbs 12 oz after only pushing a few times. Abigail Paige arrived at 8:58 - weighing 4 lbs. 9 oz. Of course she decided to flip around after her sister was delivered and she was delivered breech (feet first) - causing even more chaos in the delivery room. Afterwards I wound up having issues with hemmoraghing (sp?) and had to have several procedures to control the bleeding - causing just a little more excitement. But all are now well. We came home on Sunday afternoon - no time in the NICU and adjusting to life at home.

Wow! That's amazing. As frantic as it was, I'll take your birth story any day! None of that 30 hours of labor stuff. Secondly, the part where they're running you down to the OR yelling at you NOT to push.... hilarious!!!
