Our birthday celebration at the zoo

We went to the Detroit Zoo this morning as a family for the first time to celebrate Max & Lily's birthday yesterday, DH couldn't get yesterday off work so we went today. Thought I would share some cute pics.

It was too cute, they were all smiles when we got there, excited by all the action. I don't think they noticed most of the animals except the zebras. Then about 20 minutes before we were done walking the entire zoo we looked down and saw them both zonked out. It was a fun day.

The only potential downer was when we first got to the fountain and asked a nearby woman to snap our photo she refused saying she had her own kids to watch and huffed off. A nice man with his son overheard and offered to take the photo for us. The photo by the fountain is a family tradition on both sides since DH and I were kids we always got our picture taken in front of it, so we had to have our first family shot in front of the fountain. We didn't let the crabby lady ruin our day.

Thanks just wanted to share our fun day. Now we are starting the cleaning to prep for tomorrows birthday bash with our family for Max & Lily.

If you do they have a new exhibit that for $3 each they can feed the giraffes from a deck. We thought Max & Lily would enjoy that in another year. Today they were more looking at the people than the animals : . The zebras caught their attention though, but I think it was the black and white stripes.

Thanks for the recommendation about the avatar. I never thought about that today, but we were tired when we got home. As you can see I took you advice and used the family pic as my advatar. Thanks.
