Our babies turned a month old!

Well, I'm happy to report our babies are doing so well, especially for preemies.
Tristan who was born 5 lbs 7 oz as of last week was 6 lbs 10 oz and he feels like he gained another 1/2 pound MINIMUM since then. My boy is getting heavy!!
Aidan who was born 4 lbs 15 oz was 6 lbs 4 oz last week. He is about 1/2 inch longer than Tristan so looks slimmer but is also feeling heavier, although Tristan is obviously heavier when you hold them.
We had fun on their 1 month birthday on Wednesday and we had a cake and took pictures. Aidan slept through most of it.

We took their professional newborn pics yesterday, and that was quite an adventure. Both babies put on a show full of fussiness and finally the only thing that would calm Tristan down was my breast, and when we tried the same thing with Aidan he refused to let go after 15 minutes even though he had just eaten about 45 min before (they are on a 3 hour schedule)
So needless to say we were at the studio a LONG time....Mommy Daddy and babies were TIRED!!!!!

For the most part it's been tiring, but so much fun. Between pumping and breastfeeding (mostly pumping) I have lost all my baby weight +2. My friends are jealous, but I tell them don't be, its ALOT of work.
All worth it though when those 2 munchkins snuggle up next to me, and the coolest thing now is how my voice over anyone else's totally calms them down. I LOVE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They totally recognize Mommy and it takes me much less time to calm them down then Daddy. I really love it.

They are sleeping in their co-sleeper for the most part, but at fussy times, I first try the McClaren travel rocker (in vibration mode) their swings and finally the last resort is putting them in bed with me right up against me. That almost always does the trick but luckily a combo of the McClaren rocker and their pacifier usually does it before I have to go there....
Speaking of the pacifier, I use the "Soothie" ones and they have been a LIFESAVER. I never thought I'd be a pacifier mom but it totally keeps me sane. And the Soothie ones don't seem to cause any adverse consequence to breastfeeding, so i win all around. (Except when they are ravishing and realize the pacifier has NO milk in it, lol)

All in all, I feel happy and blessed and totally in love with my 2 little men.

Congratulations - you sound SO TOGETHER and CALM. At the one-month mark I was still contemplating moving away...without the babies! You're amazing!
