Our babies are here at 34 wks

Jeremy and Emily are here!
I went in for my weekly NST at the hospital the morning of 6/6, I was 34 weeks. The monitor was showing that I was having contractions every 1.5 - 2 min., but I only felt 2 of them in an hour. I had an appt. with the midwife right after that across the street so they sent me there with the printout of the contractions. Then she sent me back over to L&D to have them watch me closer. Once they got me on the monitors I started feeling the contractions and they were getting stronger. So I called DH to come from work 1/2 hr. away (I was worried because my last 2 kids came within 3 hrs.). I new we were going to have a c-section because they were both breech, so as soon as DH got there they took me in and Jeremy was born at 3:57pm, 5lbs 6oz., and Emily at 3:59pm, 4lbs 3oz. I was so glad to have it over, I was very nervous about having a c-section, but it wasn't that bad.

I am home but they will be in NICU for a few weeks it sounds like, but they say its to soon to tell. Jeremy just needs to be able to eat on his own, and Emily needs to hold her temp on her own and eat on her own. We started breastfeeding yesterday, so I hope it will go quickly.

They are so beautiful, it was hard to leave the hospital without them, but they are doing great!

Congratulations! It sounds like you were in the right place at the right time! I am sure that you are glad to have the worry about the pregnancy and delivery part of things over! I am sure they will be home soon!

Congrats on the babies. My son was born at 34 weeks, at 4lbs 8oz. He spent 14 days in the nicu and then came home. He's amasing and smart, and funny. Can't wait to hear about you getting them home.

congrats! my boys were born (much smaller than yours) at 34w 1d and spent only 6 days in the nicu - hope your babies' stays are just as short (if not shorter)! use this time to get yourself reafy b/c the roller coaster starts when they get home!

We brought Jeremy home on Tuesday and Emily came home today. So 13 and 15 days in NICU. We've only had them both here for less than 12 hours and we are already exhausted.
