Our babies are here and home with us!

On Tuesday July 10 I went for my 37 week check-up with the Peri. My daughter failed the NST and then she was not responsive on the ultrasound. I was very worried about her and after talking to the doctor we decided to deliver them that day. The Doctor assured me she was ok as she was practicing her breathing in there, but it was still a good idea to deliver them.

My sister quickly called my hubby who came to the hospital. Not long after he arrived we went into the operating room. Well, at least I did. He waited for what seemed like forever while they gave me my spinal. He came in right after they started cutting me. About 20 minutes later at 4:04 pm my son was born weighing 6lbs. 6oz. Less than a minute later at 4:04 (again) my daughter was born weighing 5lbs. 2oz. She was tiny but came out screaming.

Both babies looked great and were taken to the PACU with my hubby to wait for me. About an hour later I arrived and we spent our first moments together as a family. Since then we have stayed together. Both babies are doing very well and I am doing very well aside from a headache, which they are sure is from lack of sleep.

All in all I am happy we had them early.

Congratulations!! Those are still good weights though! My Zack was a 5 lb 2 ounce baby, his discharge weight was 4 lbs 12 ounces or something around there, I think.
