Our 2nd set of twins are here!

We are so excited and just over the moon in love with these guys!! They are our 2nd set of spontaneous twins and were born on Monday the 26th at 35 weeks. Kian was born at 2:13pm 4lbs 9oz 18.25 inches and Griffin followed at 2:19pm 4lbs 13oz 19 inches. And we got our drug free twin VBAC that we wanted (I had a vaginal birth with our son, then a c/s with the girls and were really praying to avoid a c/s this time)!

Our first set of twins were born at 29.5 weeks, so with this pregnancy we had a lot of preventative care - a cerclage at 14 weeks, bedrest starting at 20 weeks, bi-weekly cervical u/s checks. And it was all well worth it! The labor itself was super fast - we got to the hospital at 5cm and 10 minutes later were at 8-9cm and a few minutes after at 2:10pm started to push. It was amazing! Kian was born after 3 pushes (2 contractions) and Griffin was born with 1 push during the following contraction. I was a bit nervous about having to go through the pushing stage twice, but what everyone says is true - it's not much different than pushing one baby out since the first baby paved the way for the 2nd.

We are SO in love with these little guys! They really are amazing and so sweet! They went up into the NICU for a quick check up and were in our room by 11pm and stayed with us the entire time and came home with us yesterday. We're so blessed!!

Thanks for all the congratulations! We're all settling in here really nicely. The boys are still nursing champs and are just so sweet! We're all absolutely in love with them! And interestingly, we think they may be ID. We'll probably wait 6 months or so to confirm with a DNA test, but so far all their identifying features are very similar. Thankfully one does have a slightly rounder face, so DH and I can tell them apart. Even their ped thinks they are ID. I'm so curious to know, but we'll give it time to see if they develop differently as they get older.
