Have a question for you girls. I was just standing up and I sneezed and had the worst ripping pain in the lower right part of my belly. Round ligament seems like the logical answer, but it didn't really feel like that. This is also the area where most of my stretch marks meet up, so maybe it was just my skin. I don't know. It still hurts. Anyone else had anything like this happen? It really scared me! The irrational part of me is thinking oh my goodness, my placenta just abrupted (there isn't even a placenta right there!) or my uterus is rupturing- even though that is completely baseless and I'm not even bleeding. Curse of the nurse. So anyways, what do you think?

I have been dealing with this for a week now with coughing and sneezing(worst head cold of my life). My stomach gets pains when I sneeze and cough and when not doing so it is wicked tender from all the coughing. I am constally worried my placenta is tearing away or that it will make my water break or whatever. I would say it is the muscles, it is the skin , all of that reacting to the sneezing. Hang in there.

It hurt almost every single time I sneezed or coughed throughout my entire pregnancy, seems pretty normal to me. Oh the joys of being pregnant wit twins! :)

I get that too. If I cough, sneeze, or move wrong or too fast. I think it is round ligaments and muscles stretching. It is fun.

You wanna know something sad? I have this sometimes when I'm not pg. I always say I just ripped my ovaries off of the rest of the mess in there. I hate it.

I'm so sorry! Sneezing pain has been worse than my sciatica. When I had a cold last week, I would have to curl up like in a fetal position when I knew a sneeze was coming on. It was the worst at night when I was lying down and couldn't bend over in time :( I'd say if the pain goes away shortly after the sneeze is over, you're probably okay, but call your Dr if you're nervous about it.

    Thanks girls,
I think I'm going to call my OB this morning. The pain was there when I woke up. I think I probably pulled or tore a muscle, but I just want to be safe. It doesn't seem to hurt from the inside like when the babies move, but is very tender to touch.

I asked my Ob last week about intense pain when I sneeze. She said it is common especially since Baby A is laying low. She suggested I hold my lower belly as I sneeze. This has actually helped a little. Isn't it the worst feeling?!??! So painful and scary!

A while back, I moved wrong and it felt like I got a zinger in my lower abdomen! OUCH! I have a nasty head or sinus cold and every time I cough, I hold my lower abdomen as twin A is really low and talk about hurting. I think you will be fine, but it probably is wise to call the OB and make sure... definately can't hurt!

Well, we're pretty sure I tore a muscle. I went to L&D yesterday and the babies looked great on the NST so we know it wasn't anything placental/uterine. It really hurts still, but just so the babies are okay, I can def. deal with it :)
