Well, I guess I have joined those of you who have this horrible pelvic pain. For a while now my pubic bone has been sore in the middle but no big deal. Well, today, I got up from using the bathroom and couldn't walk very well. It was suddenly painful just to walk. I laid down for a while and just rolling from one side to the other hurt. I couldn't get comfortable at all. Now it is sore even just sitting here. I read a little bit about this on one site and it said it can be accompanied by some uterine incontinence. Well, I've had that issue too, so I guess they can go together?

So does it just get worse? What do you do to get comfortable...or is there anything I can do to make it better? I hate to complain...I can handle anything if it brings me two healthy girls in the end. [IMG]

Oh, also, I've noticed a soreness in between my ribs. Sometimes I'm short of breath and if I take a deep breath it's kind of sore. Is this from the same kind of stretching?

I was just having a horrible pain a few days ago, so I can really relate. I hope you feel better soon. Mine went away in a couple of hours, and fortunately hasn't returned.

    Hi Melissa,

Sorry I can't help on the pubic pain. I have those occasionally especially if baby A who is breech is so active for the day. It comes and goes for me though. The urinary incontinence comes and goes for me as well but often due to the way baby A is sitting on my bladder.

As for the soreness between the ribs I had those pretty much on and off. My doc explains that this may be due to the increased capacity of our lungs. The ribs try to expand as well but not so much making the lungs feel constricted when breathing. So yes, I think it's related to stretching.

my hip bones were killing mas were those of a friend who is 4 weeks ahead of me. My doctor suggested a maternity belt. I was very leary since the maternity girdle did nothing but make my butt stink. Anyway, we both did it and lo and behond we are better! She says she is going to the bathroom less because she is actually able to empty her bladder when she pees. It has made a big difference in how much movement I am able to do as well as the bathroom trips. DS and I spent several hours shopping today, came home, I cooked supper, then spent another hour at Best Buy tonight. I'm 31 weeks.

yes, all the extra hormones help loosen ligaments especially those in your ribs and feet and may also be affecting your pelvis. they also soften muscles so it is easier to pull a muscle too. I am still recouperating from a pulled muscle along my ribcage so it is probably a muscle that is trying to stretch but can't keep up, or your ligament are stretching which can be pretty painful because they have to be stretched very slowly and our rapidly expanding bodies just don't work that way!

also the extra blood flow to your pelvic area may be causing some of the pain, mine has been bothering me off and on for the entire pregnancy, like I just spent 3 hours riding a bike.

    lets hear it for hormones!

now I have to go lay down because my sides are killing me from sitting up too long [IMG]

My pubic pain was bad, and didn't get better. It was worse depending on what position I slept in , which depended on how bad the reflux was that night! I'm sorry - just be careful about how you move your legs and go slow when you first get up!

As for pain under your ribs, be sure to report it to the Doc. I know when I developed pre-eclampsia, this was a symptom they told me to be on the lookout for: pain just under my right rib toward teh top of the uterus.

Feel better - you're doing great!

I've had lots of aches and pains at different stages during this pregnancy -- pelvic and hip, lower back, leg, etc. Interestingly, as of the past few days I've actually been fairly pain-free during the days (nighttime is another story!) I think things shift around a lot and the babies move and press on different things at different times. Hang in there...I never thought I'd feel "better" at the end, but interestingly, I do!
