I know that babies can get an orange tint if they eat too much orange food. I have tried to be careful but when you look at the things they can eat most of them are orange. My DS gets constipated easily so I don't feed him applesauce or bananas very much

Orange foods he likes: sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, peaches, apricots, mangos

non orange foods: peas (sometimes) green beans (kinda) pears (mostly)

He does have a slight tint to his nose and cheeks, no one has said anything to me but I know. But I don't know how to fix it. ANy ideas.

My oldest son always did that and his hair is orange too so it was kind of funny. It doesn't hurt them :)

Annie was rather orange for a few weeks at a time as a baby. Ellie, well, she was orange for a long time!! Even in pictures you could see her orange nose!! She looked very silly!!

Oh wow, I've never heard of that either. Did you call the pedi to see if they have any advice? I'm sorry I'm no help. :(

I worry about that too b/c my DS loves loves loves carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash. I try to mix it up a little, but he hates anything green, I'm thinking about trying avocados soon. . .we don't have orange noses yet, but at this rate I"m sure we will. I think it's harmless and goes away with time.

It's not unusual! It's a build-up of beta-carotene, and it usually concentrates in the tip of the nose, fingertips, and toes! It's nothing to be worried about and usually goes away once they start eating more of a variety, which usually comes with table foods!

Both of mine have it- they look like little pumpkin faces! - It has gotten better over the past few weeks, but I've only let them have one orange veggie a day and they have to have at least one green, and then I try to give them a lot of the reds too- (blueberry apple/cherry apple/etc...) It's perfectly harmless- the only thing you you should check for is the whites of their eyes to make sure they're not jaundiced. Otherwise, it'll clear up in time, and don't worry, your kids will NOT be the only ones w/ orangeish coloring in their baby pics! :D

I noticed it in the boys myself but most people didn't. The ped said something about it at one of their appointments. She said it's fine and actually a good thing...shows they're eating their veggies. They both had it until we started more table foods.

DS's nose is orange too. I didn't make the connection until recently! I thought that when he got sweet potatoes or carrots on his nose when eating them and it stained it...lol...Mommy brain attack again :D No, it doesn't hurt them and I don't know how to get rid of it either!

Oh well I guess that is life. Until he can eat more, I will have to live with it.

My girls also have orange noses. I try to mix up their food too, but there's not too many gerber stage 3 foods that aren't orange or yellow.

Ava Grace has been orange too!! I thought she just had her daddy's pretty skin!! well I think she does just a bit more ORANGE!! At our last well baby check the pedi walked in and said that is one orange kid!! it threw me off because I just thought she was a little darker complected than Addison! As others have said it is no big deal and will go away!
