Very Normal. It could be both babies kicking in the same direction, and it can be extremely hard (especially at 21 weeks) which baby is which. If you are truly concerned, it never hurts to put a call into your Dr and see what he/she has to say about it. Good Luck!!

I have only just started to feel it on both sides... and I don't feel very much from that one... I was concerned so I asked my Dr and she told me that since they are both moving on the ultrasound and the heartbeats were fine that it was nothing to worry about. She also said that I might not be able to tell which I was feeling until I was farther along (this was at my 21 week appt.) because they are still small... So I think it is perfectly normal! :)

I remember at 20 week range that it was really hard to distinguish b/w the 2 babies. They are so small. Once you hit the 30 week marker you might be able to feel them much better. The other thing that made it hard for me to feel baby B all the time was the placenta was in front of the sac (anterior) vs in the back (posterior).... sometimes the location of the placenta could cushion some of the movements -- it also made the Dr work harder to locate heartbeats during office visits.

Sometimes you can't feel a side if there is a placenta there and it's muffling the kicks. I did not have a placenta there, but my boys were breech (a) and transverse (b) and they did not go to the left side of my uterus. I had a mis-shappen lump up until the end. On the operating table I asked my OB whether my uterus was odd shaped on the inside because they just never wanted to be there. Apparently everything is fine. :unknw:

    Hi Jennybean,

I am 21 weeks today, just behind you in time, and I have almost all the kicks on my left side along with a left side favoring belly bulge. It is quite funny. The right side has an anterior placenta and it seems to muffle just about everything...all just like the PPs mentioned.

Funny thing is that BOTH babies favor the left side for whatever reason. We hear heartbeats fine on both sides and they move a lot as well...but somehow love migrating and hanging out together in the lower left corner of my abdomen.

Way to go for 21 weeks!!! I'd echo Kyrstyn and give your Doc's office a call for reassurance. Hope you are doing well!

I was the same way before I was 30wks. I felt everything over on my left side. Baby B was head down but kinda laying over top of A so everything was more to the left. I would occasionally feel jabs and kicks over on the right but not much. Now at 32 weeks Baby B has moved to her own side and it is a lot easier to tell who is who.

I agree that it is very normal. I only ever felt kicks on my right side and the Dr said it was because of the way the placentas were positioned, that the baby a's kicks were getting absorbed by that. Plus, the way they were positioned, all 4 feet were kind of in the same place, so I never really knew which one was kicking.

thanks so much everyone! i felt like i was going a little crazy because my left side felt like footloose was going on an my right side nothing. I guess i just expected to have one baby on one side and the other on the other. well my baby girl A is sitting on her sisters head right now!

Interesting... all my movement was on the right side... I'm noticing all of you have it on the left! I'm not worried because I now feel it on the left too, but it's just interesting. Also my doctor said that my Baby A is opposite of what it is normally, she said normally Baby A is on the right, but mine is on the left! Silly Girls!

Sometimes one baby just kicks the other one...

Be glad she is not kicking your bladder.
