Just curious what others are doing - Do you put onesies on your newborns under their outfits? How many weeks/months did you (or plan to) use onesies under clothes? Do you do it both during the day & under pajamas?

I use them on my oldest until she got potty trained and needed to have shirts instead. But I still put an undershirt on her. I plan to do the same with the twins.

Since its winter and colder, we're putting onsies on under the clothing durring the day and at night we put them on under pjs' on occasion b/c we've been using the Vapor rub and it keeps it closer to the chest and warmer. I plan on doing it - my cousin on the other hand with her baby doesnt do it b/c she says he's a hot baby. Though ours are hot, i just dont feel comfortable leaving them without. I guess it's a judgement call.

Mine always wear onesies and socks. It's winter and we live in the Northeast and I feel like they need it. I left socks off of them a couple of times and their feet felt cold (even inside sleepers) so we wear them.
I even put a short sleeved onesie under a long sleeved one if they're wearing it as a shirt. I had a friend make fun of me for that, but one layer seemed thin to me.

we don't use onesies in the house since it stays at a steady temperature. when we go out we wear two layers of clothing that cover the whole body so no part gets cold and maybe one additional layer if it's really cold.
we go by the advise to dress the babies similarly to how you dress yourself. if I feel i need an extra layer the babies get one too.

We've always done onesies under clothes and pj's, especially in the fall/winter months. With our older 3 we stopped wehn they were about 2 and having snaps became an issue with potty training. I tried under shirts, but they drove my older boys nuts.

I think we do it more out of habit than need, my grandma is a huge pusher of under shirts. Every time we're at her house between September and April she checks for an undershirt.

I think I have some sort of onsie addiction. I can NOT seem to dress my girls without a onsie at all times. I put it under their jammies always cause their room gets a bit colder than ours. During the day they live in them if we don't go out. When we do go out they where a longsleeve onsie and if they are wearing a regular shirt, I put a onsie under it. I just don't like when I go to lift them up and I pull their shirt up and expose their skin and I have to keep pulling the shirt down. Don't know why but I know it's something I need to get over eventually. For now, I see no harm in them having it on.

Me too! Once they get older, onsies will help keep them from playing with thier diapers and taking them off

I only put onesies under their clothes if they are wearing a shirt/pants (where the shirt rides up and their tummy sticks out). If it gets really cold here I may put them under their pajamas with socks, but it hasn't gotten that cold yet.

We did let them sleep in onesies a lot this summer.

With my oldest and now my twins, I have always used a onesie both day and night, especially in the winter. I think with my oldest I stopped using onesies with her when she was around 1.5. But with my twins, always a onesie, especially with it being winter.

only if they are wearing a shirt with no snaps at the crotch...my children HATE being hot - in fact most times my son is barefoot because if his socks/shoes are on too long he is a crankpot!
