One or two beds

Ever since I moved the girls to toddler beds I always find them in one bed when they fall asleep. I'm thinking of just taking one of the beds down. Their cribs concerted to toddler beds. They really could use the extra space in their room. Would you go ahead and take a bed out? Or leave it? Of course I'll keep the extra crib and put it up in case we need it.

There are 2 kids, there should be 2 beds.

Mine have always shared. For that matter until my older two were about 8 and 10 they shared by choice also.

My girls constantly ended up in the same bed too once we converted to toddler beds, but they very quickly outgrew the small mattresses when they slept together (limbs were getting stuck in rails & losing circulation ). We took both cribs/toddler beds out of their room & put a queen size mattress on the floor. At almost 4, that's what they still sleep on every night now, usually cuddled right up with each other. Some of my best memories from growing up are from bed-sharing with siblings. I was 16 I think before I ever had a distinct I-need-my-own-space-now feeling.

We have DS's old (but not really old) twin mattress. I was thinking of moving that in there instead of the two toddler beds. It would be bigger and they would have more room. Of course they always look quite comfy snuggling together on that toddler bed. lol

I would take the beds out and either put the toddler mattress's together or get a bigger mattress and put it on the floor for them. I see no reason they "have" to have separate beds anymore than siblings "have" to have separate beds. I grew up sharing a room and sometimes a bed until I was about 14 yrs old, pretty sure I survived intact ;)

I say take one out so you have more room!! My boy/girl twins are 10 and they just recently stopped ending up in each other's beds. They love being close to each other and I think they feel "safe" when they're together at night. I think it's harmless, and it's okay to let them sleep in the same bed. :good:

I already took down a crib and wow what a difference it makes! I'm going to have to use the corner for the new babies coming in November so only having the one bed up will give the girls a lot more play room.
